Paula Abdul may have moved on to a new CBS show, but she still has opinions about how her old program should be judged.

According to the former American Idol fixture, Bret Michaels would make a great replacement for Simon Cowell.

Michaels, who made a surprise appearance during the May finale, has already expressed interest in taking over the coveted spot. “For a lot of these young musicians, I’d be able to give them incredibly awesome and very, very real advice,” the rocker claimed.

It seems Paula is also a believer in Bret’s abilities. “If he were to take that position I think he would be awesome at it because you’ve got to have a passion and love for music,” Abdul recently stated.

“It takes somebody who really, really understands young people to try to make the magic happen in those 30 seconds. [Bret] would fit the mold perfectly,” she added.
