John Stamos Boycotted Glee During Season One
It’s already old news that John Stamos will be playing Emma’s love interest on Glee, a character which will be introduced to the series this week. But last year, Stamos steadfastly boycotted the musical show because of something Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) once said to Will Schuster (Matthew Morrison).
During the “Acafellas” episode, Emma gives Will a pep talk about having guts. “They say it takes more certainty than talent to make a star,” she explains. “I mean, look at John Stamos.”
Burn! “I was so mad,” Stamos admitted in a recent interview. “I called the head of the studio.” His anger led him on a self-imposed Glee boycott. “Yeah, I was the only one in the world that boycotted Glee.” You’re telling us!
Now, thankfully, Stamos has gotten over the sting and agreed to guest star on 10 episodes of the series, which should leave plenty of time for him to have a sing-off with Matthew Morrison.
