True Predictions: Home Teams Will Rule Wild Card Weekend

New England Patriots Predictably, I go 3–2 in the final week of the regular season. The season mark runs to 47-36. Wild Card Weekend provides three repeat match-ups from last weekend, but I only see one coming up with the same result. The home teams will get fat on home-cooking and victories this weekend.

True Predictions: Jets, Patriots, Tony Romo, NFL in L.A.

Tony Romo

Last week I went 3–2 with my predictions: The New York Jets have arrived early for both me and the New England Patriots. The Manning Brothers, Eli and Peyton, proved true to the pedigree with both leading great fourth quarter drives (I didn’t pick the New York Giants, but did pick the Indianapolis Colts) for the win.The Chicago Bears beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on a fourth quarter victory drive; I figured they’d want/need this one more.  Yes, I predicted that the Baltimore Ravens would beat the San Diego Chargers. Larry Fitzgerald gets it done for the Arizona Cardinals

ARIZONA CARDINALS
2007 RECORD: 8-8

Overview: The most interesting yet challenging team to write about are the Arizona Cardinals. Led by head coach Ken Whisenhunt, every preseason the Cardinals look like a team that could compete for the divisional title. That has yet to happen. On paper, this offense looks stacked with a lot of talent, headed by quarterbacks Matt Leinert and the experienced veteran Kurt Warner, as well as freshly re-signed wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and (a disgruntled) Anquan Boldin, the offense looks like a powerhouse that its rivals need to take notice of. Unfortunately, they have yet to play to their potential on the offensive side of the ball, and for the last few seasons, have been rebuilding their defense.  This preseason yet again, I am putting the Cardinals in contention for the NFC West crown.
