Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens Feuding Again

McNabb pleading to Terrell Owens
When Terrell Owens mentioned the Eagles would be better off with Brett Favre as the quarterback instead of McNabb, McNabb took the high road and didn’t respond back with an insult.  As time has progressed, and with all signs pointing to T.O. leaving the Eagles, it looks like now the gloves are off.

McNabb thought Owens’ previous comments could be categorized as “black-on-black crime”.  McNabb was quoted saying:

“It was like, it’s unreal,” McNabb said. “That’s like me going out and saying, ‘Hey, if we had Steve Largent. If we had Joe Jurevicius. It was definitely a slap in the face to me. It was a slap in the face because, as deep as people want to go into it, it was black-on-black crime.”

“It’s different to say, ‘If we had Michael Vick or Daunte Culpepper or Steve McNair or Byron Leftwich,” McNabb said of four black starting quarterbacks. “But to go straight to Brett Favre, that kind of just slapped me in the face like, ‘Wow ...”’

I am not going to sit here and bash McNabb’s comments, because I feel he is a good guy, and his remarks were said in frustration, but his points can surely be debated.  First off, comparing Terrell Owens to Joe Jurevicius is not the same as comparing McNabb to Favre.  Sorry Donovan, Jurevicius is just plain not better than Owens, even though in T.O’s mind Favre might be better than McNabb.  The QB statement made by T.O. is debatable, while the WR comparison by McNabb is not.  Feel free to insert your own ‘McNabb throws to Jurevicius, TOUCHDOWN’ joke here.  Secondly, if T.O. said he would rather have had either Vick, Culpepper, McNair, Leftwich instead of you, that wouldn’t make any sense whatsoever,  because those players aren’t better than you Donovan, so relax.

Bottom line, I know Donovan that you’re just sick of all the criticism you’ve had to endure this past season, and I feel for you.  T.O. was wrong for throwing you under the bus like that, but he won’t be around next year to pick on you.  Hope that your Eagles play the Broncos in the Super Bowl and hit him when it hurts the most.

TO is a hell of a player, but I can say we aren’t missing him over here in Philly.  He just drags everyone down around him.  Who cares if we end up w/ someone who is 70% as good…at least it’ll be a team again playing as a whole unit.
