Vietnamese cop clings to wipers of speeding bus
Posted by Andrey Malskiy Categories: Transportation, Videos,

Normally, people in the States have respect for authority and listen to them for the most part. But apparently in Asia, that is optional.
When Vietnamese traffic lieutenant Nguyen Manh Phan attempted to pull over a bus driver heading the wrong way down the street, the driver decided to flee instead of pulling over.
So what’s a foot officer left to do? Well, he jumped onto the front of the bus, of course. The officer positioned himself and held on for dear life as the driver continued on his route. The bus eventually pulled over, but not before the incident was caught on tape. Check out the video for yourself.

IKEA reinvents HDTV with Uppleva (video!)
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: HDTV, Home Entertainment, Smart Home, Videos,

IKEA is coming to the rescue of wives everywhere who are fed up with the endless mess of tangled wires in the living room with its Uppleva HDTV. Yes, IKEA is making it's own HDTV, and it's pretty wonderful. First, the tech: 1080p LED display, Wi-Fi-ready, 400Hz, FM radio, DIVX HD, with three USB inputs and four HDMI inputs as well. So, what makes this television so special? It's the fact that the actual display part is just that - a display. All of the goods are built into the surrounding furniture, which is also part of Uppleva. For example, the television also has a Blu-ray player built-in - but it's located beneath the monitor, in the console area. All the wiring is built into the furnite, so it's not visible.
You can add in your own components, of course, and the wiring is handled the same way, allowing everything to be neat and tidy. Also cool? There is a vast array of colors and designs. Uppleva is modular, so you can build it out in any way you see fit. Expect it to launch in the fall for 6,500 Swedish crowns (that's $960 to those of us in the USA.) Wanna get a peek at how it works? Check out the video after the break.

Wheels of Destruction for PS3 combines first-person shooters with arcade racing
Posted by Andrey Malskiy Categories: Driving, First Person Shooters, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Network, Sony,
So you’re a college student on a budget looking to buy your next video game. But here’s the thing, you only have enough money for one. You know you want a first person shooter, but you also wouldn’t mind a vehicle-oriented game. So what are your options? It’s simple, Wheels of Destruction!
Wheels of Destruction: World Tour is a PS3 game in which the vehicle is the first person shooter. There is no person’s involved with this game, just full on metal to metal contact with a heavy dose of plasma guns and lasers as weaponry. In our books this should be a win combo.
Players face off each other in a “Death Race 2” type of scenario, fighting till the last player standing. Gameplay includes “death matches,” “free-for-alls,” and “capture-the-flag frenzies.” There are also three classes of futuristic vehicles to choose from, “Scout, Heavy, and Assassin.” We opt for the Assassin class! Check out the trailer below, along with an instructional video to see how the game play works!

T-Mobile launches ‘No More Mr. Nice Girl’ brand campaign (video!)

This morning, T-Mobile released the full version of its new "No More Mr. Nice Girl" campaign, which sees its spokesmodel, Carly, ditching the magenta dresses the normally wears in exchange for a magenta and black leather jumpsuit. She then hops on a Ducati and drives off, which we guess signifies that the company is no longer playing games and is getting serious about competing. We don't really know. I mean, if that were true, then they'd stop referring to HSPA+ as 4G, but, that seems to be the cornerstone of the new campaign. Ah well. At least Carly looks cool. Peep the commercial spot for yourself after the jump.

Nissan DeltaWing racer test at Sebring (video!)
Posted by Andrey Malskiy Categories: Design, Transportation, Videos,
The world of racing may be getting a facelift, if Nissan gets its way. Nissan has developed the DeltaWing and set its sights on Le Mans. It'll will be entering the DeltaWing into the 24-hour race, not as a traditional racer, but as a demonstrator. Nissan will be showing off what racing could look like in the future.
The beauty in this futuristic design is that its half the weight of a traditional Le Mans racer and has half the aerodynamic drag as traditional racers as well. Though it’s a funky design, we like seeing companies thinking outside the box and innovating on traditional schematics.
Alongside the Le Mans debut, Nissan will be releasing a barrage of YouTube videos showing off different aspects of the racer. Here is the first of many tests the DeltaWing will be put through. Enjoy the “Wind Tunnel” clip after the jump.

Mercedes-Benz techs caught joyriding customer’s AMG C63
Posted by Andrey Malskiy Categories: Transportation, Videos,
Ever wonder what goes on behind closed doors at a dealership after dropping your car off for service? In normal cases, your car is well-maintained and treated with respect. However, once in a blue-moon, your car may fall into the wrong hands. Hands that decide to post a joyride, starring your car, on YouTube.
Here’s footage, recorded by two techs at a Canadian dealership, that shows them taking a Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 Couple Black Series out for a “test run." If you’re not familiar with the C63, it’s a beast designed for the Autobahn. Beneath it’s hood lies a precision engineered, 510-horsepower motor. This, in the wrong hands, is a disaster waiting to happen.
Luckily, no damage was done to the car or to others. The video does have the Mercedes-Benz community buzzing for the sheer stupidity of the stunt, and for red lining the motor so long. Check out the video above for yourself.

At Coachella 2012, Tupac Shakur made his long-awaited return to the stage, rapping his Hail Mary track solo, then performing 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted with Snoop Dogg. How's that possible? Were the rumors that Tupac never died in the first place true? Well, no, that would be ridiculous. Instead, a lot of work went into making a holographic version of the iconic rapper. Curious how it all looked? Well, that's what the video above is for. Check out the return of 2Pac above, although you may wanna mute it if foul language isn't your thing.

The Phosphor Appear is a great looking watch, and a cool gadget to boot! We saw this one at CES, and had to get our hands on one as soon as we saw it. The Phosphor Appear is driven by Micro-Magnetic Mechanical Digital (M3D) technology, the Phosphor Appear watch utilizes miniature-sized rotors adorned with Swarovski crystals that revolve to reveal numerical or chronological information. Every minute, an electrical pulse generates an electromagnetic field that changes the position of the crystals on the face of the watch, which in turn, displays the passing time while producing a distinctive sound unique to the Phosphor Appear digital watch line. You can pick up the Phosphor Appear on Amazon. This video was recorded at CES 2012.
