Why is Diddy Hiding Under the Covers?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Videos, Editorials,

In a recent entry on his vlog, Sean Combs (Diddy) cowered under the covers, spoke in a frightened whisper and admitted to one of his biggest fears: that Sarah Palin, Vice Presidential contender, will become the President of the United States.
“Sarah Palin, you scare me,” Diddy says dramatically, a single flashbulb illuminating the white sheet surrounding him. “She’s worse than the boogeyman!” He cries, eyes wide and haunted with images of Palin White House.
In the video, Diddy shows a clip of Palin’s interview with Katie Couric and goes on to lament the possibilities of the future. “If I stay under the covers, she won’t become President!” He decides, continuing to cower. View the clip after the jump.

Candidates, Take Your Corners
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, ABC, Cable, CBS, FOX, NBC, PBS, Editorial,

In case you somehow managed to miss the banner headlines and television teasers, the Vice Presidential candidates will face off tonight. That’s right - Sarah Palin and Joe Biden will share their vision for the future even as they publicly rip each other to shreds. I love the debates.
Don’t know where to watch this much-touted, long-anticipated event? Every major network, PBS, C-SPAN, CNN, FOX News and MSNBC will all be showing the coverage live - just start flipping channels and you’re bound to find it.
They’ll meet up at Washington University in St. Louis and square off on the important issues affecting the country….or, they’ll just both spit rhetoric and remain carefully ambiguous on all swing voter issues. No need to alienate all the maybes out there. Palin has been preparing for the debate at McCain’s Arizona retreat, while Biden has been at work in his Delaware home.

New HBO Series Offering a Grim Future?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Drama, Prime Time, HBO, Gossip,

U.S. homeowners are facing crisis. The American economy is failing. The time-honored tradition of the Presidential debates has become little more than a clever PR tactic, and we’re in the middle of one of the most intense election years the States have ever known. If you’re among those who think the world is going to hell in a hand basket, or even if you’re not, HBO’s new futuristic series may just appeal to you. It could also offer a not-so far-fetched look at our potential future.
In Americatown, the world has advanced 25 to 40 years into the future (the exact year remains unclear), and the great country of America has weathered at least one too many massive catastrophes. In the series, the decline of the country has sparked massive immigration that gives rise to Americatowns all over the world. Think Chinatown, with buffalo wings and beer.
“By presenting Americans as immigrants in the near future, as both underdog and hero in the drama of global dislocation, we substitute a mirror for the rancor that informs much of the partisan debates on immigration,” said series writer Bradford Winters.

Lynne Spears Speaks Out
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Celebrity Babies, Pregnancies, Features,

Lynne Spears, mother to Britney and Jamie Lynn, has been making the media rounds to promote her book “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World,” but she has a few things to say about politics and teen pregnancy, too. This celebrity mom isn’t afraid to use her turn in the spotlight to talk about touchy subjects, and how she compares (or doesn’t) to potential Vice President Sarah Palin.
In an interview with Newsweek, Spears sounds off about the difference in the way the media covered two somewhat similar stories: Jamie Lynne Spears, 16, pregnant and unwed and Bristol Palin, 17, pregnant and unwed.

McCain Camp Reacts to SNL Parody
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Gossip,

The minute we all got a look at Sarah Palin, the bevy of available jokes was suddenly self-evident. The woman does, after all, look a great deal like comedienne Tina Fey. That Fey is an SNL alum and still pals with NBC is just the icing on the cake. The inevitable SNL season premiere followed, showing the inevitable pairing of screen buds Fey and Amy Poehler as none other than Palin and Hillary Clinton.
The millions of SNL viewers found it hysterical and the video has been posted on a multitude of entertainment sites since. John McCain’s camp, however, didn’t find their funny bones tickled.

Real Wonder Woman Sounds off on Sarah Palin
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Editorial,

For years (four, to be precise), Lynda Carter wowed fans in her skimpy flag-inspired costume and deadly accessories. She personified truth, justice and beauty with her raven locks and rock-hard abs. She was Wonder Woman, and for many men who remember her heyday she still is a heroine.
But when asked her feelings about Sarah Palin, whom the media refers to as a wonder woman, the “real” Wonder Woman didn’t even try to act demure. What did Lynda Carter have to say about the self-styled hockey mom, bulldog-in-lipstick who is John McCain’s running mate?
Be advised, her show may have been child-friendly, but that doesn’t mean Lynda Carter’s political comments are.

Had Hillary Clinton won the Democratic nomination, there’s a chance we would be talking about a demand on pantsuits right now. (Probably not, but it’s possible.) But since she wasn’t, the fashion focus has now been placed on the other females currently in the political spotlight.
Ever since Sarah Palin’s appearances at the Republic National Convention, interest in the candidate’s $375 glasses have reportedly quadrupled. According to Italee Optics Inc., the manufacturer is now having to produce the eyewear around the clock.
This news comes months after Michelle Obama appeared on The View in another must-have piece. Once it was revealed that her black-and-white dress was an off the rack item purchased at White House Black Market, the retailer was flooded with calls for the $148 garment.

The Palin Interview
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Specials, Talk Shows, ABC, Editorial, Video,
In her longest and most in-depth interview since the Republican party’s surprising Vice Presidential announcement, Sarah Palin sat down for an intimate one-on-one with ABC anchor Charlie Gibson. She called him “Charlie” like they were old friends, he called her “Governor Palin” to remind us all that she is, indeed, a high-ranking public official. Otherwise, it might be too easy to take one look at her and say “wait, what’s she doing on TV?”
“Can you look the country in the eye and say, ‘I have the experience and the ability’?” Gibson wanted to know of Palin, whose short political career has never taken her to Washington, D.C. (Palin has not served in the Congress or Senate).
“I do, Charlie…” Palin affirmed, “I’m ready.”
In this case, she meant she’s ready to lead the country. But I saw her interview, and I’m convinced she wasn’t even fully prepped for that much.

McCain Also Caught Talking About Lipstick on Pigs
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Daytime, Talk Shows, ABC, Syndication, Gossip, Video,
Haven’t heard the latest controversy about pigs wearing lipstick? Well, then you haven’t been watching the news.
Today, Barack Obama is being fired upon from John McCain’s camp about comments he made during a speech yesterday. When talking about his opponent’s plan for change, the Democratic candidate chose to use this colorful analogy: “You can put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.”
And while that phrase has been used many times before, McCain supporters felt Barack’s “sexist” comment was aimed directly toward Sarah Palin (the “Pitbull with Lipstick”). Unfortunately, the Republicans also failed to realize that their own candidate had used that same analogy about a certain female contender last year.
In today’s episode of The View, the ladies of the table talked about the two different soundbites. (You can watch both of them here.) If you listen closely, you might also hear Elisabeth Hasselbeck defend Barack Obama…
