Real Wonder Woman Sounds off on Sarah Palin
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Editorial,

For years (four, to be precise), Lynda Carter wowed fans in her skimpy flag-inspired costume and deadly accessories. She personified truth, justice and beauty with her raven locks and rock-hard abs. She was Wonder Woman, and for many men who remember her heyday she still is a heroine.
But when asked her feelings about Sarah Palin, whom the media refers to as a wonder woman, the “real” Wonder Woman didn’t even try to act demure. What did Lynda Carter have to say about the self-styled hockey mom, bulldog-in-lipstick who is John McCain’s running mate?
Be advised, her show may have been child-friendly, but that doesn’t mean Lynda Carter’s political comments are.
Philadelphia Magazine
During a routine interview in Philadelphia Magazine, Carter was asked this as a last question: “I’m sure you’ve seen all the comparisons in the media and among Republicans of Sarah Palin to Wonder Woman. How do you feel about that?”
“She’s the anti-Wonder Woman,” Carter said of Palin. “She’s judgmental and dictatorial, telling people how they’ve got to live their lives. And a superior religious self-righteousness…that’s just not what Wonder Woman is about. Hillary Clinton is a lot more like Wonder Woman than Mrs. Palin.”
And apparently, Wonder Woman doesn’t mince words. Carter expounded on her anti-Palin sentiments: “No one has the right to dictate, particularly in this country, to force your own personal views upon the populace - religious views. I think that is suppressive, oppressive and anti-American.” Carter even seemed to offer some advice to Palin: “Nor would Wonder Woman be the person to tell people how to live their lives. Worry about your own life! Worry about your own family! Don’t be telling me what I want to do with mine.”
That’s right, Palin, and if I were you I would lay low - Wonder Woman’s bracelets alone can sever limbs.
“I like John McCain,” Carter admitted. “But this woman - it’s anathema to me what she stands for. I think American should be very afraid. Very afraid. Separation of church and state is the one thing the creators of the Constitution did agree on - that it wasn’t to be a religious government. People should feel free to speak their minds about religion, but not dictate it or put it into law.”
Or on the money? Separation of church and state indeed - when has this ever been achieved in America?
“What I don’t understand, honestly, is how anyone can even begin to say they know the mind of God.” Or that there even is one? “I know what God is in my life,” Carter continued.
Yeah, and she doesn’t need Sarah Palin - or apparently anyone else - to tell her more about the Supreme Deity, or give Him a place in the American government. When her claws aren’t sheathed, I get the feeling that Lynda Carter might’ve made an excellent Catwoman, too.
So far, John McCain’s camp has annoyed several musicians by playing their tunes without paying for the right to do so. You can now add at least one ticked-off superhero to McCain’s growing list of enemies.
