Arrested Development season 4 now available on Netflix
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Home Entertainment, Internet,
Just a quick PSA: Netflix has released the fourth season of Arrested Development earlier this morning. That means that you can spend the rest of your Memorial Day weekend enjoying the long-awaited final chapter in the story of the Bluth family. It's taken seven years to get here, so we won't blame you if you go on a bit of a binge, powering through all 15 episodes. Arrested Deelopment aired on Fox between 2003 and 2006, and was one of those shows plagued by low ratings, which later developed a massive following through DVD sales. Due to the increased popularity and demand from the fans, Netflix snapped up the rights, making it the newest Netflix Original.

Yahoo unleashes Flickr redesign, users get 1TB free storage
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Corporate News, Design, Internet,
Yahoo just completely redesigned its Flickr photo sharing service, putting the images front and center, and giving each user a full 1TB of data. That's right--every Flickr user get 1 full terabyte of data to store their images. As Flickr says, "we want all of your images," according to Adam Cahan, Yahoo SVP. The point here is that FLickr is offering you up to 7- times more storage space than other sites, stores your photos in full resolution, and can hold about 537,731 of your images. That is simply unmatched by any other Yahoo competitor. In fact, at Google I/O last week, Google was excited to announce 15GB of storage for your images--a full 985GB less than what Flickr is now offering.
Alongside the Flickr redesign, there's now a new Android app. The iOS app was recently updated as well. What do you think of the new Flickr? Awesome? Too little, too late? Sound off in the comments!

Copy cloud storage aims to overtake Dropbox with Fair Storage, more space
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Internet, Storage,
Copy is a new cloud storage service, and it's got its sights directly on upheaving Dropbox as the cloud king. With Copy, you keep your files in sync across devices and get a web interface with easy sharing (including mobile devices,) similar to what you get with Dropbox. However, it differs in a couple of key areas that make Copy seem like a much better offering:
- When you share files with other Copy users, that space isn't docked from both accounts. With Dropbox, if you share a 1GB file, both you and the person you share with now have 1GB less storage space.
- When you sign up for Copy, you get 15GB of space right off the bat. With Dropbox, you get 5GB.
- Each time you refer a friend to sign up for copy, you are granted another 5GB, with no limit. Dropbox only gives you an extra 500MB, and has a hard referral bonus of 16GB.
Wanna give it a try? It's free, and it's great. Head on over to Copy to sign up - use this link, and you'll start out with 20GB free instead of 15GB!

You can now attach money to your Gmail messages
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Google, Internet,
Google is making the practice of sending money to friends as easy as attaching a document to an email. Using Gmail, you'll be able to attach cash money to your emails using your Google Wallet account, for free. The nice thing is that you don't have to have funds on your account to do this--you can just have a bank account attached to your Wallet account. Recipients of your paper won't need to have a Gmail account, which is one more thing you don't need to worry about, and anyone you send money to can return it to you as well. Google is rolling out the feature now to Gmail users over the age of 18. Check out a video that explains it all, after the break.

Following the success of House of Cards, Netflix has launched its next original series, Hemlock Grove. All thirteen episodes of Hemlock Grove were made available to Netflix subscribers early this morning albeit to lackluster critic reviews. Hemlock Grove is based on a 2012 novel penned by Brian McGreevy, a supernatural thriller that is set in a small town in Pennsylvania. The plot revolves around the murder of a teenage girl, and the odd and unorthodox residents who are potential suspects. The show stars Famke Janssen, Bill Skarsgard, Landon Liboiron, and Penelope Mitchell.
The horror genre is more forgiving than many others, and as such, even with the series being panned for not having much of a storyline, it may find success with the Netflix audience. Netflix invested $45 million in the production of the first season, and so far over 1,400 Netflix members have rated the show an average of 3.9 out of 5 stars.
What's next for Netflix? The fourth season of Arrested Development. All 15 episodes of the cult hit will hit Netflix on May 26th.

Twitter #Music service launches on web and iPhone
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Apple, Internet, Music, Software,
The rumored Twitter Music service has become a reality, launching this morning. Twitter #music seems to be a natural step for the service, which sees hundreds of millions of users regularly discussing music on the service, as well as a bunch of popular musicians as well. Twitter #music aims to help you find music you'll like, based on your Twitter activity. You can access #music through a web browser, and there's also a new dedicated #music iOS app that lets you easily view and listen to music that's popular and trending on Twitter, undiscovered artists, music that it knows you like, and a #NowPlaying area that shows what others are listening to.
One important note here is that Twitter #music isn't a streaming music service. Instead, it's a layer that allows you to access your Rdio, Spotify, and iTunes tracks, using Twitter #music as your navigation mechanism. You simply connect your accounts to #music, and you are all set. The iOS app is slick, and we hear the Android version will be on its way soon. You can download Twitter #music for iPhone now.

Google Fiber is coming to Austin, Texas
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Broadband, Corporate News, Google, Internet,
Google Fiber is officially coming to Austin, Texas, giving people yet another reason to want to live in the edgy city. Google has not yet revealed the rollout schedule, but don't let that fool you--they'll likely be splitting the city up into different "Fiberhoods" like what happened in Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri in order to gauge the areas of highest interest. Google Fiber offers 1 Gbps broadband Internet, television service, and phone service through a direct fiber to the home connection. This marks the thirs city that Google Fiber is making an appearance in, as Google's Eric Schmidt recently said that Fiber is a "real business"--here's hoping we see quick expansion to additional neighborhoods in the US.

Try out BlackBerry 10 on your iPhone or Android smartphone
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Smartphones, Internet, Software,
Curious about how BlackBerry 10 stacks up against iOS, Android, and Windows Phone? You can now check out how it works right on your smartphone browser for a glimpse of BlackBerry 10. This will bring you into a web app that simulates the look and feel of the BlackBerry 10 OS, which will allow you to get a feel for the new BlackBerry hotness. Of course, being a web app, it isn't as smooth as actually picking up a BlackBerry Z10 and using that, but it's still a cool idea from BlackBerry to get people familiar with its new offering.
