Sony Unveils 4K SXR Series Projectors
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Home Entertainment

The new Sony 4K SXR (Silicon X-tal Reflective display) Series has one-upped other 1920 x 1080 projectors’ resolutions with a gimongous 4096 x 2160. With SXRD technology, pixels are set at a pitch of 8.5 micrometer, from the center of one SXRD pixel to the center of the next, with an inter-pixel gap of 0.35 micrometer. The SXR-S105 model sports 5,000 lumens for screens of up to 25 feet, while the SXR-S110 features 10,000 lumens for screens up to 40 feet.
If you want to see just how cool that really is, check out Akihabaranews, where they made a test run at the IPELA video conference session and used a 200-inch display. No word yet on availability or price, but we think the SXR is going to set you back quite a piece.
