Nikon Introduces 10.2 Megapixel D80 Digital SLR

Nikon D80Nikon today introduced a 10.2 megapixel digital SLR camera priced at $999.95 for the body only or $1,299.95 for body and lens outfit, including the new 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S IF-ED DX Nikkor Lens. The new Nikon D80 will be available in September.

The 10.2 megapixel Nikon D80 offers a wide array of high end photographic features for digital camera users. Highlighted by Nikon as some of the D80’s top marks, besides the CCD imaging sensor, are a new high resolution image processing engine, a 0.18 second start up time with 80ms shutter response and continuous shooting at up to 3 frames per second and 100 consecutive JPEG images. It also has a new 11-area auto focus system.
