We have seen lots of clothing for catching WiFi signals, so it is no surprise that Nike Dunks have the same built-in. Named “A Step in the Right Direction,” the sneakers were designed by MSTRPLN and Ubiq. There are 3 LEDs on the flap enclosure that will go solid when it registers a signal up to 50 meters. The Epson Endeavor NH2100 has a 15.4-inch TFT WXGA display, Intel’s Celeron 540(1.86GHz) CPU, Windows Vista Home Premium, 1GB RAM, 80GB ATA/5400rpm HDD, DVD-ROM/CD-RW, and IEEE 802.11b/g wireless LAN and Ethernet connectivity. Choose one of the two model designs and expect to pay 147,000 yen ($1,410.00) towards the end of the month in Japan. We wonder if Paris Hilton will want one after reading that she had a Hello Kitty Doll designed with her likeness.

HTC’s Touch Diamond is the latest smartphone to join the pack. It features a 2.8-inch touch screen, TouchFLO 3D for images, a 3.2 megapixel auto-focus cam for stills and video, HSDPA connectivity, 4 GB memory, 256MB ROM, and 192 MB DDR SDRAM. There is GPS, HTC Weather reporting, and it has both Wifi and Bluetooth capability. At a size of 102 X 51 X 11.5mm and a weight of 110g, look for the Touch Diamond to come out for play in June.

JAXA/NHK Cam Captures Moon Video

We do so many stories about what NASA is doing lately that we thought it only fair to show you what Japan is up to these days. JAXA (their NASA) and the National TV channel NHK launched a Canon HD video cam to shoot the moon. Check out the first images here. NHK plans to release a DVD of the videos and, from the look of things, more will be coming. After all, one can never get enough close-ups of space, can one?

We thought it was cool enough to have a machine that shuffles cards, but when we saw this AOTOMO Automatic Mahjong Table we thought it had to be a prototype. Not so. Utilizing electricity, light, and magnetism, and controlled by microcomputer programming, the table automatically shuffles and deals tiles. The company claims that the 95x95x75cm gadget is noiseless. It comes in red, black, or silver, and is made of either plastic or wood. One of us learned how to play mahjong as a kid by our grandmother, and until they make a machine that can kibitz along with shuffling, we think we will pass.

Francisco Guerra, a special effects whiz with the company Snowmasters, has come up with a fine alternative to ugly billboards. His idea, named Flogos, are foamy clouds that can be as large as four feet across and shaped like logos. He does this with a machine that creates and slices them, similar to the Fun Factory used for Play-doh. Because they are made of tiny air-filled bubbles combined with helium, they are also good for the environment. One Flogo can go as far as 30 miles and as high as 20,000 feet, in as little as 15 seconds. The Flogo Machine has already caught the attention of Disney, who will be using one at Florida’s Walt Disney World next month to send Mickey Heads over the park.

WALL-E Toys Ready for Movie Premiere

Although the movie won’t be out until June 27, Disney is already promoting it with two toys. The Ultimate WALL-E has 10 motors, a programmable remote with touch programming, and sensors to detect obstacles and sound direction. It is also MP3 compatible with built-in speakers, USB cables, and rechargeable batteries (included.) The robot will be at ToysRUs and Disney Shopping this fall for $189.99.
The iDance WALL-E, with animated eyes, talks and dances. The audio in-jack makes it compatible with iPods or MP3 players. Sound activated, it will be at various retailers this summer for $24.99.
