Ke$ha’s Horrible SNL Performance

Unless you were saved by the Tivo gods, you probably got stuck watching Ke$ha’s utterly horrendous SNL performance this past Saturday night. Her off-key warbling went on for an interminable four minutes, and the song itself is pretty horrible on its own merit (tell me, what does it mean, exactly, to “wake up feelin’ like P. Diddy,” and how do you know?).
Nonsensical lyrics, absolutely confusing costuming and out-of-sync choreography would have easily sunk Ke$ha’s ship even if she hadn’t opened her mouth to sing…which, unfortunately, she did. To her credit, I’m pretty sure she didn’t lip-sync the performance (something a few notable SNL musical guests have been ripped apart for doing), but in Ke$ha’s case that might have been the better route to take.
