American Idol 9: Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox Signed to Album Deals

American Idol’s Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox, the winner and runner-up of Season 9 respectively, have both signed record deals with 19 Recordings. Lee has signed with 19 and RCA Records; Bowersox with 19 and Jive Records.
According to reports, Bowersox was in good spirits following the Wednesday Idol finale, despite the fact that she broke up with her boyfriend the day before. She told reporters she has “no complaints” with the course of the competition, even though she didn’t win. “Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy,” she said of Lee’s big win.

Christina Aguilera Performing on American Idol Finale

Christina Aguilera will appear on the finale of American Idol as she launches her comeback.
The singer is currently promoting her new album Bionic and will perform the first single from it, “Not Myself Tonight,” on May 26.
She is also scheduled to appear on a host of other TV shows including The Today Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Lady Gaga Coming Back to American Idol

Lady Gaga might not be appearing on the Today show until July 9, but you’ll be able to catch her on network TV long before then.
The singer recently announced via Twitter that she’ll be hitting up FOX next month. “See you on American Idol. MAY 5th, Little Monsters.”
It’s not clear at this time which track she might performing that night. It’s also not known whether singing is the only thing she’ll be doing for the program.
This will, of course, not be Gaga’s first visit to the Idol stage. She also performed “Poker Face” in April 2009.

Adam Lambert: American Idol’s Next Mentor

Although he’s still establishing his post-American Idol career, Adam Lambert has been tapped as the show’s next mentor.
Season 8’s runner-up will appear on the FOX show next Tuesday, April 13 to offer a few words of advice for each contestant. While it’s not yet known which genre he’ll be contributing to, Lambert should be able to at least provide some hints as to what the judges are looking for.
“Even though I’m just at the start of my recording career, I hope to lend some insight as one who’s been thru the Idol adventure. excited!!” Adam wrote on Twitter.
A scandal-free performance of “Whattaya Want From Me” will then follow on the Wednesday results show. “Don’t worry America: I will be beyond family friendly. Relax and enjoy. For Your Entertainment,” Lambert tweeted.

Miley Cyrus to Mentor American Idol Contestants

They might not be singing songs from teen idols anymore, but they are going to be mentored by one anyway.
It’s just been announced that American Idol’s remaining 11 contestants will be following up Rolling Stones week with a “Billboard #1 Hits”-themed show. Who will be on hand to help guide the singers on their quest for fame? Someone who’s not even old enough to be considered an adult yet: 17-year-old Miley Cyrus.
Cyrus’ mentoring duties on Tuesday will be followed up by a performance from the singer on Wednesday. (That’s when she’ll sing “When I Look at You,” a song from her upcoming movie The Last Song.) Meanwhile, two other teen stars are also scheduled to sing during this week’s results show. Real-life couple Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato will be on hand to perform “Make A Wave” together.
