Mickey Rourke Attached to Expendables, In Talks for Iron Man 2

Mickey RourkeEven though the Golden Globes are still days away, is already in high demand. In just 24 hours, The Wrestler star has had his named mentioned for two different projects.

Late yesterday, it was announced that the 52-year-old would be joining Sylvester Stallone’s next directorial project. In The Expendables, Rourke will play an arms dealer who assists a group of mercenaries aiming to take down a South American dictator. Mickey will join Sly, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Dolph Lungdren in the project. Stallone, who worked with Rourke in Get Carter, also wrote the film.

Now less than 24 hours later, Variety is reporting that Rourke is being considered for . If talks go well, he would star as villain Crimson Dynamo, a Russian arms dealer who fights with a nuclear-powered suit of armor.

Rourke, a likely Oscar contender for Wrestler, is currently nominated for a Golden Globe. The latter ceremony can be seen this Sunday, January 11th on NBC.

Cloris Leachman: She may not have won a mirror-ball trophy, but she was able to snag something even bigger. Oscar-winner Cloris Leachman was recently added to Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds (formerly spelled Inglorious Bastards) cast. The 82-year-old will cameo as Mrs. Himmelstein, an elderly Jewish woman who inspires Eli Roth’s character to seek vengeance. The WWII movie already has Brad Pitt, Mike Myers, Diane Kruger and B.J. Novak in its lineup.

When I think of Bollywood, I usually envision colorful garments, dancing and singing…not two-word sentences, muscles or HGH. But apparently that’s what you get when you throw Hollywood into the mix.

It’s just been announced that - yes, Sly - will follow up his roles in the latest Rocky and Rambo sequels with a stint in a Bollywood film. As a cast member in Incredible Love, Stallone will become the first well-known American actor to be featured in such a vehicle.
