In The Fighter, Bale plays a Dicky Eklund, a former boxer turned drug addict who later helps his brother (Mark Wahlberg) with his own career. The biopic about real-life boxer “Irish” Mickey Ward (Mark Wahlberg) also stars Amy Adams Mickey’s love interest.

First Look: Teaser Trailer for Joaquin Phoenix’s Strange Film
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Magnolia, Documentary, Trailers, Upcoming Releases, Videos,
I’m not sure if it’s possible to make a film that has elements of Borat, Crazy Heart
andMaking the Band—but director Casey Affleck may have done that here.
In this “documentary” titled I’m Still Here: The Lost Years of Joaquin Phoenix, we get an inside look at the subject’s most drastic transformation since changing his name from Leaf Phoenix. But is it all for real? And do we really care what Joaquin has supposedly become?
Those unable to turn away from this train wreck can watch more if it when I’m Still Here debuts September 10.

Acting Showcased in New Trailer for Nine
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Weinstein Company, Adaptation, Drama, Music, Musicals, Romance, Trailers, Upcoming Releases,
Although I have thoroughly enjoyed every single preview for Nine, the trailers up until now have been missing one thing: the acting.
Considering the cast boasts six Academy Award winners (Daniel Day-Lewis, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench and Sophia Loren), expectations for the incredible ensemble are understandably high. Thankfully, this new look does not disappoint.
Nine - also featuring Oscar nominee Kate Hudson and Fergie - opens wide on December 25.

If you watched the recent Video Music Awards, chances are you saw the trailer for the upcoming Michael Jackson documentary.
Now we’re getting a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the singer working through his “Human Nature” routine with film/tour director Kenny Ortega. Although we don’t see a lot of dancing in this particular clip, it’s evident Jackson’s voice was still in fine form.
This Is It hits the stage on October 28.

The Return of Beavis and Butthead
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Miramax, Comedy, New Releases, Trailers,
Are there two people better equipped to discuss a Mike Judge film than Beavis and Butthead?
In this clip, the animated characters - best known from Judge’s classic MTV series - give us a brief synopsis of what to expect from the new film Extract.
“In this movie, you have a chick with big boobs, a dude who gets his nuts knocked off and then a dude who gets paid to have sex. Oh yeah - and then there’s a bunch of bottles of extract too,” Butthead explains.
Sound appealing? Then be sure to check the film out when it opens this Friday, September 4.

Racier Trailers Coming to Theaters
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Trailers,

If you purchase a ticket at a Regal Cinemas theater anytime soon, you may see something new on your movie screen: a red band trailer.
These trailers - intended for ‘restricted audiences’ only - would contain scenes viewable at R, NC-17 or unrated films. They would be mixed in with the normal green band previews that ‘have been approved for all audiences’ by the MPAA.
Although clips with more adult matter - such as crude and sexual content - are not new to the internet, theater chains have been wary of playing them fearing they’d be viewed by the wrong demographic.
