Disney Casts Thor 2 Villain

Mads MikkelsenWhile The Avengers continues to rake in the cash at the box office, Disney isn't wasting any time moving forward with its other projects.

In addition to Tom Hiddleston's sadistic, mischevious god Loki, Disney announced the casting of another villain for Thor 2, played by Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen. There is no official word on which character he will be playing (my money is on Surtur or Skurge).

Mikkelsen is probably best known for being the baddie in Casino Royale, but he also starred in Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn's critically-acclaimed Valhalla Rising. Interestingly enough, Mikkelsen's character in the film is named One-Eye, which is the nickname for Norse god Odin (portrayed by Anthony Hopkins in Thor).

Thor 2, directed by Alan Taylor, is expected to hit theaters on November 15, 2013.
