Jennifer Lawrence to Go on Hiatus

Jennifer LawrenceJennifer Lawrence is going to take a year's break from acting.

The 23-year-old actress has made eight films in the past 12 months, and Harvey Weinstein - who worked with her on Silver Linings Playbook - has revealed she is about to have a much earned "rest."

"She's going to have a long break for a year where she won't do anything. It's been non-stop for her and she deserves a rest," he told The Sun.

The famed producer also defended her decision to not attend the BAFTAs ceremony, despite receiving an award for her role in American Hustle. "Jennifer is too nice and will do people favors and agrees to do a movie like American Hustle when she could have had a rest. She signed on to do Hunger Games when she was young and wouldn't have realized how much it would dominate her life. But she's a professional and always will be," the famed producer explained.

Jessica AlbaJessica Alba will "never stop acting."

Although the 32-year-old actress is branching out into other ventures, such as her lifestyle book The Honest Life, she'll always return to her main creative passion and since becoming a mother to Honor, five, and Haven, three, she's become "fearless" when choosing roles.

"I'm still so passionate about acting and have that as a creative outlet, and it's a big part of who I am; I'll never stop acting. [Having my kids] was the best time of my life. I love it - I feel more fearless as an actress after becoming a mother, which is quite liberating. I'm ready to take on heavier roles, where before I was nitpicky and afraid of so many things."

In 2012, Jessica launched her business The Honest Company - an eco-friendly business which specializes in organically-produced nappies, baby wipes and bath products - and she admits the launch did push her acting aside:

Ryan Gosling to Take Acting Hiatus

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celeb News,

Ryan GoslingSay it isn't so! Just as Ryan Gosling has succeeded in the ascent from The Mickey Mouse Club to A-list actor, he has decided to call it quits for the time being.

"I've been doing it too much. I've lost perspective on what I'm doing. I think it's good for me to take a break and reassess why I'm doing it and how I'm doing it. And I think this is probably a good way to learn about that. I need a break from myself as much as I imagine the audience does... The more opportunities I'm given, the more I learn about how easy it is to [expletive] it up. You fight for freedom and then you get it, and then you have enough rope to hang yourself. It's like trying to exercise some restraint, because I do have so much freedom."

Don't panic just yet - the Drive actor will next be seen in director Derek Cianfrance's Place Beyond the Pines, his follow-up film to Blue Valentine, (which Gosling starred in) and he just finished wrapping on an untitled Terrence Malick project.

"[Reid and I] have about three to four ideas that we love that are all in the hopper. By the end of next year, we're going to shut things down and write the first thing that we're going to direct. We're going to be like, alright, no more acting parts for a minute, let's take a few and really get caring about that section of our career."

The actor - who was named People's Sexiest Man Alive this year - definitely isn't disappearing from the acting world, as he's due to star in a sequel to Magic Mike and a biopic on daredevil Evel Knievel.
