Philip Seymour Hoffman Will Not Appear via CGI in ‘Mockingjay’

Philip Seymour Hoffman will not be digitally recreated to appear in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.
The actor tragically died in February of a heroin overdose before he could complete the sci-fi film and director Francis Lawrence is determined to include the star in the scenes he couldn't complete, but will not settle for digitally enhancing his image into the movie.
"We finished the majority of his work. I think he might have had eight to 10 days left on our schedule. In most of those scenes, Phil didn't have any dialogue. We are going to put him into those scenes, but we're only using real footage. We're not creating anything digital or a robotic version of him," he said.
Shortly after his passing, studio Lionsgate, who is making the movies, said Philip would be recreated for scenes using CGI effects. Producer Nina Jacobson said they may give some of the star's character, Plutarch Heavensbee's, lines to other characters, but said that would happen "only in circumstances that we are able to do that without undermining the intent of the scene."

Robert Pattinson for Hunger Games Sequel?

The Twilight Saga actor has been linked with the role of Finnick Odair - who is known by fans of the Suzanne Collins book trilogy for being the victor of the 65th Hunger Games - in the second movie in the film franchise, Catching Fire.
Sources told TMT that studio Lionsgate are keen to recruit the 26-year-old actor to star in the forthcoming motion picture, which will be directed by Francis Lawrence. Should Robert take on the role, he will be reunited with Francis after the pair worked together on 2011 movie Water For Elephants.
Robert is due to star alongside his girlfriend Kristen Stewart in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, the last movie in the franchise, later this year, with production on Catching Fire set to begin this fall ahead of its planned released date in November 2013.
Francis Lawrence to Direct Hunger Games Sequel

Francis Lawrence is set to direct the Hunger Games sequel.
Studio Lionsgate have been searching for someone to helm the follow-up to the first instalment of the franchise after it was revealed Gary Ross would not be returning. So now they have made an offer to Lawrence to direct Catching Fire and are waiting for him to sign the deal.
Lawrence - who has previously directed I Am Legend and Water for Elephants - was up against Bennett Miller for the role but it is thought he was always the favorite because he had a clearer schedule, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Up until recently Ross was set to return to the franchise and revealed he was to make the next film in the three part series written by Suzanne Collins.
