Julia Roberts Admits Age Influences Her Film Roles

Julia Roberts admits she has become pickier about the film roles she accepts as she has gotten older.

The Oscar-winning actress is now 46 and she is happy to admit there are numerous parts she will no longer consider now she is a veteran screen star and is comfortable to accept she is not suitable to play suitable characters because she is a mature star.

When discussing the reason why she appears in less films now, she revealed, "There's a couple of things at play. For one, I'm 46 years old, so falling out of chairs isn't as funny. I could break a hip. Certain scenarios that worked 10 years ago aren't as appealing, as applicable, as believable, as original - all those things."

Julia says a lot of people have the misconception she takes on less work now because she wants to spend as much time as possible with her three children, twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, nine, and son Henry, six, whom she raises with her husband Danny Moder. While the August: Osage County star does prioritize her family over work, she is adamant that isn't the reason why she isn't now a prolific Hollywood actress: "I think people like to say that I'm super-picky because of how much I love my kids. But as an actor, I sort of pride myself on the fact that I've always been picky."

George Clooney Couldn’t Relate to Character

George ClooneyGeorge Clooney couldn't relate to his character in The Descendants. The 50-year-old actor plays Matt King - a wealthy man who sets out with his two daughters to find the lover of his ailing wife - in the drama and though he had little in common with his alter ego, he doesn't think that is important.

George - who won Best Actor for his role in the movie at last weekend's Golden Globes - said, "This guy is really going through a phase in his life where he wants to do right by everyone, and I don't know that that would be part of my make-up. He's caught p in a strange place in his life and career. I enjoyed playing the character but I don't know that I can relate to him. But part of my job is to do what is asked of me in the script and not have to worry about whether it pertains to me or not. You don't have to actually shoot heroin to play a drug addict, you know."

He also admitted he fears repeating the same career choices over and over and would regard not varying his decisions as a professional "failure": "My biggest fear is doing the same things 10 years from now. That would be a failure. It's something you have to constantly reassess, and asking yourself what you are going to do next makes it a good long full journey."

Lindsay Lohan Offered Movie Role as Sharon Tate

Lindsay Lohan Sharon Tate

Actually, we love this. Lindsay Lohan clearly isn’t doing much, career-wise, right now. The actress was replaced on the Linda Lovelace movie because of ongoing rehab and court issues, but it seems a very meaty role is now in the offing: Sharon Tate, famous Manson victim.

Eyes of a Dreamer tells the story of Charles Manson, to which Sharon Tate is inextricably linked. Tate, an actress herself, was killed while pregnant in August of 1969 by the Manson clan. Her murder is one of the most well-documented and notorious in US history.
