Jennifer Aniston Going the Gwyneth Paltrow Route

We didn’t forget about Jennifer Aniston’s movie project The Goree Girls, though we’ve received no word on it for two years, and it turns out the actress hasn’t forgotten, either. Aniston is still planning on starring in the film that will depict her as a country-western singer. A similar role landed Gwyneth Paltrow tons of attention, so why not Aniston?

Few things about the project are certain (like whether or not Jen will sing in it), but we do know it revolves around the real-life 1940s singing group The Goree Girls, who came together while incarcerated in a Texas prison. We also know that Kelly Rowland is co-starring, so chances that somebody's going to sing are pretty good.

If playing a washed up country singer could earn Jeff Bridges an Academy Award, what could it possibly do for Gwyneth Paltrow?

In Country Strong, Gwyneth plays Kelly Canter, a troubled musician who tries to get her career back with help from her husband/manager (played by real-life country star Tim McGraw). Paltrow, who previously demonstrated her vocal abilities in Duets, also does her own singing in this film.

The movie—which also features Tron: Legacy‘s Garrett Hedlund and Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester—opens in limited release on December 22.

Dolly Parton’s Story Coming to Life

Dolly Parton has revealed that plans are in motion for a biopic about her life.

“I’m working on my life story,” the 64-year-old told British talk show host Alan Titchmarsh. “I’m not decided if it’s going to be a musical or a movie with music in it. I’ve not thought about who will play me - but we need someone little. And if they don’t have enough up top we’ll have to give them a big old boob job.”

Parton is no stranger to the big screen and has starred in several films, including Nine to Five, Steel Magnolias and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. She also served as a writer on TV stories Wild Texas Wind and A Smoky Mountain Christmas.

Recently Dolly admitted her look was unique, but insists people shouldn’t copy her pneumatic blonde style.

The country singer - who has had a number of cosmetic surgery procedures, including having her breasts enlarged to a 40DD cup - said: “It comes from a sincere place. And I ain’t telling people to look like me. I don’t say, ‘Oh you need to have big boobs and overdo your make-up and have nine inch nails. A lot of men think I’m just too artificial, but there are some good ol’ boys out there who don’t.”

Jennifer Aniston is getting her pipes warmed up to start performing in the Goree Girls, a female country music group. She’s not switching career paths - she’s working on her next film role.

Aniston will star in The Goree Girls, a movie about the band which maintained a popular radio show in the 1940s. The Goree All Girl String Band was somewhat different from other musical acts, and not just because they were an all-female country-singing group. They were also convicted felons, serving time in Texas for various crimes including robbery and murder.

I’m already interested in the movie even without Aniston, but now I’m sure it’s going to be a hit.
