While Parks and Rec fans noticed Chris Pratt's dramatic weight loss and temporary exit from the series to film Guardians of the Galaxy, little else has truly been known about the Disney/Marvel project - until now.
The studio released the first official promotional photo of the comic book adaptation (above) on the last day of 2013, as well as an official synopsis:
"An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill (Pratt) finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan (Lee Pace), a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper), Groot, a tree-like humanoid (voiced by Vin Diesel), the deadly and enigmatic Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista). But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance."

Henry Cavill: Affleck Will Be a “Fantastic” Batman

Henry Cavill is sure Ben Affleck will make a "fantastic" Batman.
The Man Of Steel actor's Superman will be pitted against Ben's character in the provisionally titled Batman Vs Superman in 2015, and he's positive the star will do a great job of playing the superhero.
"I'm sure he'll be fantastic, above all else. As a filmmaker he's got his own style, he's not copying anyone else. He's been tenacious in his career, he's had ups followed by downs and now he's up again. I think that requires and shows a special strength of character and it's something I enjoy working with because jobs like this require a dedication to the work and belief in one's self, and Ben has that," he said.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson and his wife Sam schedule their careers around their children.
The Kick-Ass 2 star says he and his 46-year-old spouse try to make sure at least one parent is available to look after their four daughters - including Wylda Rae, three, and 18-month-old Romy Hero, as well as two children from Sam's previous marriage - while the other is working.
"We travel as a family. We made a decision a long time ago that's how we're gonna do it. The last thing I wanna do is be separated from my wife and kids. It's important that one of us is with the kids," he said.
Aaron recently filmed a remake of Godzilla while Sam looked after the children, but now she has signed on to direct the eagerly anticipated big screen version of Fifty Shades of Grey, the 23-year-old actor will take a break from acting.

X-Men 4 and 5: Is That What You Want?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: 20th Century Fox, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Science Fiction, Sequels, Rumors, Scripts,
At least one big screen comic book adaptation is still thriving, no reboots needed. The X-Men movie has already spawned two successful sequels (X2, X-Men: The Last Stand) and two prequels (X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the as-yet-unreleased X-Men: First Class) -- so, how about a few more?
Laura Donner, producer, says that Fox has received a treatment for another installment in the ongoing X-Men saga, and according to sources the idea will lead directly into yet another movie.
If Hugh Jackman is willing to keep putting on the claws, are you ready to keep making trips to movie theaters to watch him?

Amy Adams is going to make a super-cute Lois Lane in the Superman reboot, even if she has to dye her trademark red locks. Director Zack Snyder says the actress is “perfect” for the role (the Golden Globe nomination sure didn't hurt her in the audition room). He picked Adams after a lengthy search, because every superhero needs a leading lady.
Adams will be playing the career-minded love interest to Clark Kent/Superman Henry Cavill. Supporting cast includes Kevin Costner, who will play dad Jonathan Kent and Diana Lane as mom Martha Kent.

Guy Ritchie Attached to Lobo
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Warner Bros, Action, Adaptation, Science Fiction, Upcoming Releases,
Guy Ritchie is set to direct a live-action adaptation of Lobo, a DC Comics story.
The Sherlock Holmes filmmaker has signed on for the sci-fi action film, which follows a seven-foot tall intergalactic bounty hunter.
Despite speculation, the Warner Bros. movie will not be based on comic book miniseries Lobo: The Last Czarnian, in which the anti-hero discovered he was not the last of his race left alive as his former history teacher was still living. Instead, it follows the title character as he teams up with a teenage girl to hunt down four fugitive aliens.
The movie is being written by Don Payne and is based on the character created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen in 1983. Joel Silver, Akiva Goldsman and Andrew Rona are to produce the movie, with work scheduled to begin early next year.
No casting information has been announced yet.
