Marion Cotillard: Actors Are Fragile Creatures
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip,
Marion Cotillard believes many actors suffer from substance abuse issues because they are "fragile creatures."
The Dark Knight Rises actress thinks that some of her contemporaries give in to the allure of booze and illegal highs because they are looking for an escape from their stressful careers. When asked why she thinks so many actors succumb to alcohol and drugs, Marion said, "Actors are fragile creatures. The wider the gap, the more vulnerable we are. Any form of escape can seem good. You have to navigate through the different emotions because you're placed in tough positions as an actor. Everything we give in a performance can come back to torture."
The 38-year-old French star has also revealed her profession has led her to become enthralled with the ideals of the "American Dream" - which is the ideal that everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve prosperity and success. Marion lived in New York for a brief period to learn English and while she was in The Big Apple she fell in love with the way of life in the USA and the ideas Americans hold dear.

Who needs method acting when you have YouTube?
Denzel Washington and Aaron Paul both recently admitted to learning how to play alcoholics for their latest films - Flight and Smashed, respectively - from watching drunks on YouTube.
"You can YouTube 'drunks.' There are thousands. They are amazing," Washington, 57, said. His favorite video is of "this one guy that's trying to open a door and it takes about a half hour."
Paul also heralded the video site for its collection of inebriated individuals' humorous actions caught on tape: "I watched so many funny videos. There are so many. Just type in 'drunk people' or 'people drunk,' and you'll find some gems. There are amazing videos on YouTube that only have like 400 views. I'm just shocked that the entire planet hasn't seen them yet."

Daniel Radcliffe: Too Mature to Party
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Warner Bros, Celebrity Gossip,
Daniel Radcliffe claims that he is too old for partying.
The 20-year-old star no longer socializes with the rest of the Harry Potter cast and crew because he wants to carve out a career as a respected actor: “I used to play a lot of pranks in the past but I want to be a more mature, serious actor now. I don’t get involved with drinking or partying with the cast anymore.”
The actor also blasted stars who are only interested in fame, insisting he hates being “a celebrity.” He is quoted by Britain’s Daily Star as saying:
“I hate celebrity culture, but I’m unavoidably part of it. These people are celebrities as a by-product of what they do. People read every little thing about Peter Andre and Jordan and I couldn’t care less. They don’t want to work, have no interests, no passions, nothing and yet they seem to be held up on pedestals. I don’t think they should be trying to push themselves onto us. It does annoy me of course, but I’m part of it.”
Daniel’s serious attitude appears to be in contrast to his Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint, who has been spotted at several UK music festivals this summer and makes no secret of his love of wild nights out.

Transformers 2 Delayed Due to LaBeouf’s Arrest

UPDATE: It looks as if Shia may not may not be blamed for the accident after all.
As mentioned on VIP Breakdown earlier today, actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested Sunday morning after a DUI-related accident in Los Angeles.
The 22-year-old was taken to Cedars-Sinai around 3 a.m. where he underwent surgery for injuries to his left hand. (He also received minor injuries to his head and knee.) A female passenger from his car and the female driver from the other vehicle were treated and released. (Video of LaBeouf’s overturned vehicle can be seen after the jump.)
In a statement, the star’s rep said Shia’s status would prevent him from immediately returning to work:
“Attorneys for Mr. LaBeouf confirm that an automobile accident involving an additional party occurred early morning in Los Angeles on July 27, 2008. Shia is currently recovering from extensive hand surgery with plans to return to work on the set of Transformers 2 within one month. No further comment will be issued at this time.”

‘Thank You for Smoking’ Now A TV Series
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Adaptation, Drama, Books,
The 2006 film, Thank You For Smoking, will now see itself repackaged as a USA Network series. A television version of the Christopher Buckley novel version had been swirling around for some time (it was once considered by NBC) and has now found a home on cable.
The film adaptation starred Aaron Eckhart as Nick Naylor, a spokesperson for tobacco industry. His M.O.D. squad (‘Merchants of Death’) friends included Maria Bello and David Koechner (lobbyists for the alcohol and gun industries, respectively). Naylor did a great job doing what he was paid for, yet had a slight change of attitude by the movie’s end. The Eckhart-free series would see Naylor supporting those ‘more deserving’ while continuing to ride the moral fine line.
My love for anything Aaron Eckhart has biased me against any remakes—though Dirty Sexy Money’s Peter Krause might have been a good option here. What do you think? Do you think this could be pulled off?
