Transformers 3 a Sure Thing
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: DreamWorks, Paramount, Action, Adventure, Sequels, Rumors, Upcoming Releases,

**UPDATE: Michael Bay now claims the movie will come out in 2012, not 2011.**
Transformers 3 has been given a release date and officially put on a time table - the robotic movie will be coming to a theater near you on July 1, 2011. According to reports, however, that’s the only thing that’s official.
So far, Paramount and DreamWorks have nothing on paper with director Michael Bay or leading man and lady Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. They haven’t even hired a scriptwriter. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the second installment to the franchise, will be released on June 24, 2009.

I dunno, maybe I'm in the minority, but I thought it was pretty stupid. But before I get into what's wrong, I'll get into what's right. The effects are amazing, and the robots are rendered well, and the robot battles are easily the best moments of the movie. What is all wrong is the story, the dialogue, the pacing, the overall length of the film, and the human characters. The biggest problem is the script. You realize something is amiss about 10 to 15 minutes in, and you think to yourself it'll get better, but it really doesn't. The story could have been so much better. And it really doesn't help that most of the humans are caricatures. Michael Bay knows how to film action, and he doesn't disappoint during the action sequences. What he has trouble directing is anything involving character development or emotion-- which you don't necessarily need in an action film, but here I just thought he was done in by a bad script with a weak story. It's a good film, but not a great film. I'd rate it 3 out of 5 stars.

All told, I liked it.. a lot.. though the plot was weak, and the characters were iffy, everything else was hot as hell. Memo to Megan Fox: You're a hot piece of ass, you can't act to save your damn life. Make your money now.

I also thought the acting, dialogue and the pacing were off, if not bad. But to an extent I'm glad they left the human side of things in the dust. I came to see Transformers, not the two dimentional personalities they're protecting! Either way, I thought the movie was friggen awesome. Of all things I think they did a good job making it feel epic.

Just saw it last night. I loved it. It is in my top 10 favorite movies of all time. It was epic. It was funny. It was awesome. As much as I thought Shia LeBeouf would be bad for that part in the movie, he was actually excellent, to my suprise. This is a movie is so worth the $20+ price tag when it comes out on DVD.
