Ron Burgundy’s Return
Will Ferrell has been hinting around for months that he might reprise his role as Ron Burgundy, San Diego’s 70s-era news anchor, in another flick. While on location, the funnyman told reporters that he’ll soon meet with Anchorman co-stars Paul Rudd and Steve Carell to talk about ideas.
But don’t get excited just yet. Rudd and Carell’s careers have changed quite a bit since Anchorman hit the big screen in 2004. Carell was once just another correspondent on The Daily Show, a lot of people didn’t recognize Rudd and Will Ferrell has become one of the biggest box office stars in the biz. Will the budget stretch enough to hold them all…and the other supporting cast members?
Rumor has it that the Anchorman sequel, if it ever comes into existence, will propel polyester-clad Burgundy into the 80s.
