As we all know, Christian Bale is passionate about his work. Whether he’s yelling at his director of photography or physically getting into character, he puts 100% into it.

To date, Bale’s body has seen its ups (Terminator, Dark Knight, American Psycho) and downs (The Machinist, Rescue Dawn). His role in The Fighter would fall in the latter category.

The actor, pictured above in Boston, plays Dickie Eklund, a former boxer turned drug addict. After his career ended, Eklund later went on to train his brother, real-life boxer “Irish” Mickey Ward (Mark Wahlberg).

Filming on The Fighter is underway.
