Alice Temperley to Launch New Line of Scarves

Alice Temperley is launching a new line of scarves.

The designer - who created Pippa Middleton's gown for the evening reception at last year's royal wedding - is thrilled to have the opportunity to focus on her first loves, "prints and textiles."

"I am really excited to launch a new collection dedicated to scarves. It has always been an important part of what we do, but now we can really focus on prints and textiles which is my first love," she said.

The collection will include a limited-edition Medal style launching in June, which will celebrate Britain's Olympics and Diamond Jubilee. Alice also wanted to create a range of scarves because she loves wearing them herself.

"I wear scarves as part of an everyday uniform; it is a great wardrobe companion, perfect for travelling, doubling as a wrap on the beach or adding color or a seasonal print to your outfit. With the opening of our first flagship store in the autumn, now is the right time to expand into new categories," she added.

John Galliano to Launch Hat, Scarf Collection

It’s about time! Fashion designer John Galliano is to launch a hat and scarf range, due to be unveiled in October.

For years, Galliano has worked with British milliner Stephen Jones for both his Christian Dior and eponymous labels; the upcoming line, no doubt, will pull inspiration from the much-heralded runway looks.

No word yet as to whether or not the line will include men’s hats, but I’d fancy seeing guys sport the tulle veils around town! Galliano himself showed up to his Christian Dior couture show sporting a look from his menswear range on Monday.

Hats have been trending lately, especially since

pop star Lady Gaga has been known to showcase Philip Treacy creations on the red carpet quite frequently (rumors even circulated at one point that she was to internship for the label).

Selena Gomez Teams Up with Kmart for New Clothing Line

Wizards of Waverly Place star Selena Gomez has become the latest celebrity to enter the “cheap clothes for juniors” world.

Beginning this July, fans of the 17-year-old’s style will be able to purchase items from the Dream Out Loud line at Kmart stores. The collection, which Gomez describes as the “whole Texan cowgirl meets the glam Boho chic of Hollywood,” will include belts, scarves, hats, socks, handbags and hosiery in addition to clothing. Footwear will become available come October.

“I am proud to be able to join forces with Kmart to release my own fashion collection!” Selena told People. “This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember and I feel privileged to be able to give the consumer great product at a great value.”
