Keira Knightley Turns Out For Chanel

Keira Knightley at ChanelKeira Knightley was among the many stars who turned out for Chanel’s show today.

The British actress, who has been a muse for the iconic French fashion house’s creative director , joined a whole host of high-profile names for the event at the city’s Grand Palais. Keira’s fellow muse Lily Allen - who was handpicked by Lagerfeld to front the label’s Fall/Winter 2009 handbag collection - was also in attendance at the star-studded event, with actress Rachel Bilson and supermodel Claudia Schiffer also taking to the front row.

The Palace of Versailles was recreated inside the Grand Palais especially for the fashion showcase, with more than 80 models parading Chanel’s new creations up and down the runway. Despite a new modern take, the classic Chanel suit made a re-emergence on the Parisian catwalk, while pretty pastels, feathers and dramatic gothic-inspired pieces played a key role in the collection.

Meanwhile, Ines de la Fressange - the fashion house’s original muse - marked her first return to the catwalk in 21 years by taking to the runway in a black floor-length chiffon gown and gold costume jewelery, while being greeted by a rapturous applause by the audience.

Rihanna at the 2010 VMAsRihanna (not Lady Gaga!) has been named as the most daring celebrity fashionista.

The “Love the Way You Lie” hitmaker - who is known for her eccentric dress sense - was awarded “The Daring Diva” accolade by People magazine in its 2010 Best Dressed List.

However, Rihanna wasn’t the only star to be given a fashion nod by the magazine, with the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba and Gwen Stefani also picking up awards. Actress Jessica won “The Mix Master” title for her ability to look fashion-forward both on and off the red carpet, while Gwen - who has two sons, Kingston, four, and two-year-old Zuma with rocker husband Gavin Rossdale - was praised for her yummy mummy credentials and Jennifer was named The Amiercan Classic.

Meanwhile, star Lea Michele picked up “The Newbie” award for her red carpet efforts and Rachel Bilson was praised for her stylish use of denim. However, it wasn’t just stars of stage and screen who were noted for their style choices. Prince William’s girlfriend Kate Middleton won over judges for “always looking chic and refined,” and was awarded “The Princess in Waiting” accolade. Fashion Police: Rachel Bilson Steps Out in the Bra-Dress

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Celebrities, Dresses,

Rachel Bilson

Some celebrities wear gowns that have the chest support already built-in. Others opt to go the pasties route instead. But - why she just wears the bra that is part of the dress.

I just have to wonder: If this Preen design surfaced during Bilson’s Project Runway appearance, would she have been the only judge loving it?

At least the top half of her dress wasn’t grabbing her breasts like AnnaLynne McCord‘s was.

Jewelry Designer Rachel Bilson

Rachel BilsonIt was only a matter of time before the ever-so-stylish delved into the jewelry world. What better way to start than with designing a diamond bracelet?

The 28-year-old actress created the jewelery to benefit the Diamond Empowerment Fund, a non-profit organization that supports education in Africa, and will donate a portion of sales revenue to the cause. Rachel was inspired to help after visiting Botswana and South Africa last month to learn about improvements made in the diamond mining industry there and wanted to do all she could to promote the cause.

The bracelet is made up of brown leather cords, with a gold charm framing a dainty round diamond. The accessory retails for $100, with $20 from the sale of each piece going to the Diamond Empowerment Fund to build student housing at the CIDA City Campus, a university in Johannesburg which is the country’s first to be virtually free. The jewelery is being sold exclusively through InStyle.com.

This is not Rachel’s first venture into design - she also has her own clothing range Edie Rose, but admits she struggles with some of the processes: “I can’t draw at all, so I won’t be doing any sketches, but I am learning to sew. I think it’s important to know more about the whole process of making clothes.”
