Emma Watson continues to front the People Tree brand, for which she acts as a creative advisor.
This time around, the Harry Potter star is showing off her extremely short hair, and she looks great! She may be selling me on the hair, but I’m not so sure if these summertime dresses would be right for the upcoming cold season. The brand does get major bonus points for being fair-trade.

Emma Watson has fronted the new advertising campaign for People Tree.
The Harry Potter star - who first joined forces with the ethical clothing company when she designed a collection for them last year - revealed the line has expanded and now includes dresses, skirts and shirts made from hand-woven Fair Trade brushed fabric.
“Although I wasn’t centrally involved in the design of this collection, I had great fun in helping People Tree select some gorgeous Fair Trade textiles, such as a dogtooth hand-woven check, cable knits, and the first Fair Trade hand-woven brushed checked fabric, which has been made into easy tulip skirts, dresses and shirts. There are even a few party dresses, such as the little black satin tulip dress which can be dressed up or down to suit any occasion.”

Items Du Jour: Jimmy Choo Makes Sneakers, Christina Gets Sexier, and Posh Poses With a Duck
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Editorials, Fashion Designers, Health & Beauty, Models, News, Rumors,
- Victoria Beckham scores an interesting editorial in German Vogue, where she looks flawless (as usual) against trashy back drops and a playground duck. Yes, a duck.
- Ever wonder what happened to Christina Aguilera? She says that she’s more comfortable in her skin, now that she’s become a mom. She even says that she’s more sexual. How is that even possible after creating a music video like “Dirrty”?
- Kristen Stewart lands the cover for the current issue of Flaunt magazine, and holy smokes is she hot! She’s everywhere and I love it!
- Fashion designer Mark Fast seems to have made quite the impression with his peers—Calvin Klein is reportedly going to discontinue the use of size 0 models. It also could be the allure of Lara Stone; Calvin Klein creative director Francisco Costa is rumored to have picked her to front several of the campaigns.
- Jimmy Choo is set to release a line of sneakers next month, but early previews of the shoes aren’t impressing anyone. Starting price is at $600!
Dedicated Designer Emma Watson

Overseeing designs and adding input is serious work. That just may be why Emma Watson attended every design meeting for her fashion range.
The Harry Potter actress has teamed up with People Tree for a new ethical clothing range and was keen to have as much input into the collection as possible.
Antony Waller at People Tree said, “Emma attended every single design meeting over the five-month process. She doesn’t want to be known as a designer but wanted to give her input and ideas wherever she could.”
Emma, 19, wanted to launch a fashion range aimed at 16 to 24-year-olds, but wanted to do something that was environmentally-friendly.
Anthony added, “Emma has a big interest in fashion but she’s also passionate about the environment and humanitarian causes. She approached us directly about creating a line to combine these two ideas. Obviously she is the target buyer age herself so she can relate to them and knows what they want to wear.”

Emma Watson Designs Line For People Tree

Let’s face it, an Emma Watson clothing range was always in the works ever since magazines and Karl Lagerfeld took the fashionista under their wing. It has finally arrived—and it’s an ethical one, too!
The Harry Potter actress has teamed up with People Tree for the new collection, which is aimed at people aged 16 to 24.
“I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with. I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian and environmental issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren’t many options out there.”
Emma, who is the face of Burberry, has taken on the role of creative advisor for the new line (Lindsay Lohan?), which comprises cotton skirts, T-shirts, jersey garments and jewelery.
She tried to inject some of her own personal style into the pieces and used her favorite locations, including South France, London, and music festivals, as inspiration.
There are 26 women’s pieces and 15 men’s looks in the range, which is largely made from organic and fairly traded cotton. The collection is handmade by fair trade groups and helps people make money in Bangladesh, India, and Nepal.
