Supermodel Naomi Campbell was honored by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana last night.
The Italian designers held a party for Campbell at the Dolce & Gabbana flagship store in London’s Bond Street to celebrate her 25 years in the fashion industry, where they heaped praise on the 40-year-old beauty. “Besides being one of our favorite models, Naomi is also a great friend and a special woman. What matters to us, and what we would like to celebrate, are the private moments we shared and that allowed us to know her generosity, her funny jokes and being always ready to help those who needed it,” said Dolce and Gabbana.
As well as celebrating her success, the party also helped raise money for flood victims in Pakistan by 14 signing a Dolce & Gabbana T-Shirts with her print on it, which will go on sale. The proceeds will go to flood victims through Naomi’s Fashion For Relief charity and she said she aims to raise as much money as she can. “I think not just of this disaster but all the ones over the last three years.”
Other guests at the exclusive party included Lily Allen, Claudia Schiffer and Elizabeth Hurley.

Quote of the Day: Mario Testino on Kate Moss, Anna Wintour
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Models, News, Rumors,

“Believe it or not, [Kate Moss] is shy. I go to events with her and I am, like, what’s the matter with you?’ and she is, like, shaking, nervous. I’m, like: ‘You’re a freak, because I am not shy at all.’ Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of American Vogue, is, you imagine, the most secure person, but she is shy, too. Often people mistake her shyness for coldness.”
- Fashion photographer Mario Testino talks about the shy personalities of Kate Moss and Anna Wintour.

Mario Testino Honors Kate Moss
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Models, News,
A host of A-list stars attended an exclusive party in Kate Moss’ honor last night.
Legendary photographer Mario Testino launched his exhibition Kate Who? - which features a series of life-size portraits of the supermodel - with a private viewing at London’s Phillips de Pury & Co gallery and as well as Kate, Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood and Donatella Versace also turned up.
Kate, 36, looked stunning in a black asymmetrical dress and Christian Louboutin heels and Mario had previously paid tribute to her: “Kate represents the ultimate kind of woman - an icon of our times.”
The pair have been friends for many years, and Mario recently revealed how he first met Kate when she was just 14 and crying backstage after a catwalk show. Only a few copies of each photo from the Kate Who? exhibition will be available to buy, but the gallery has refused to comment on how much they are expected to make.
Later on in the evening, Kate and her friends headed to exclusive venue Mark’s Club to carry on the party.
Marc Jacobs and Lorenzo Martone Break-up Rumors Resurface
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Fashion Designers, Fashion Shows, News, Rumors,
Say it isn’t so! Just as initial whispers of a break-up between Marc Jacobs and former model Lorenzo Martone ceased, the big-time fashion designer sparked the rumor mill once again when he didn’t mention his fiance in his acceptance speech at the CFDA awards.
The couple were seen together last week at the amfAR gala looking like their usual, adorable selves (holding hands and everything!); however, insiders say that Lorenzo was caught smooching another lady’s man at Sean Patterson’s birthday party that night!
Was the cheating kiss the reasoning behind Martone’s absence from the CFDA awards and Marc’s speech? Marc couldn’t be reached to comment and Lorenzo declined to comment when presented with the news.
The couple have been engaged since March 2009, after having dated previously for a year.

Naomi Campbell Admits to Joining AA, Quits Partying
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty, Models, News,
Supermodel Naomi Campbell used to think she “wouldn’t survive” the modeling world.
The 40-year-old British beauty admits she pushed herself too hard because she thought she would go “crazy” if she had to sit down and evaluate what she wanted out of life.
“To be honest, there were times I thought I wouldn’t survive. The time between 1998 and 2005 was especially bad. During that time I avoided looking in the mirror, because I didn’t like the person who was looking back at me. So I had to find out what I wanted and what I didn’t want. The thing is, as a model you’re used to being on the go, so just the thought of sitting down and thinking about something drives you crazy. I used to have a lot of problems. Amongst others I drank too much so I joined the Alcoholics Anonymous to get and stay sober.”
The supermodel - who is dating Russian billionaire Vladislav Doronin - insists she now has no interest in going out parting because her priorities have changed as she has grown older: “I’ve grown up. I’ve stopped driving myself to exhaustion. I want to lead a calm life. I’m done with partying. When you get older things that seemed important to you when you were 20 suddenly lose significance.”

Karl Lagerfeld Fires Lily Allen
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News, Rumors,

I guess looking like Coco doesn’t guarantee a lifelong gig with Chanel.
Lily Allen has been dropped as the face of the brand’s handbags. The “Not Fair” singer fronted an advertising campaign for the French fashion house’s Coco Cocoon bag last year, but her contract has now expired and won’t be renewed and has been replaced by Vanessa Paradis.

Items Du Jour: Miley Makes a Match, Janet Gets Short, and Angels Get Ads

- While her Wal-Mart lines aren’t faring well in sales, Miley Cyrus isn’t looking too worried these days, as she flashes her leopard print bra for the public while picking up some grub. While the matching prints are a bit tacky, it’s nice to see that she’s actually wearing a bra.
- Janet Jackson was spotted in London yesterday, having chopped off her locks. While I was never a fan of the Amber Rose trend, I can’t say that I’m hating Jackson’s look!
- I love Michelle Williams and I love Chanel, but when the pair were together for the after party of her film Blue Valentine‘s premiere, I fell out of love for what looked like Grandma’s satin bed sheet vengeance. Her new short hair style is killer, but not with the plain fabric wrap.

- Kate Moss have some fairly interesting ideas, but I do have to give it to her for innovation. The Topshop designer attended the unveiling of her latest collection in one of her own pieces, but she wore it backwards! She has this uncanny ability to wear anything so well that I doubt that anyone would’ve known had it not been in her line.

Celebrities’ and Designers’ New York Night Out
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Models, News, Sales, Men, Women,
Cindy Crawford, P. Diddy, and Hugh Jackman are set to celebrate Fashion’s Night Out in New York. A host of Hollywood celebrities and style icons will join forces for an evening of extravagant shopping events, shows, and parties across the US city—let’s hope that the world doesn’t implode when it happens.
The occasion—a celebration of New York being at the forefront of global fashion—has been founded by Vogue magazine, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, tourism group NYC, and Company and the City of New York.
Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour said:
“Little did I think when the idea of Fashion’s Night Out was first dreamed up this past March during the Paris collections that we would have over 700 and counting retailers, designers, and brands joining us on the night of September 10. Of course, I’ve always known the New York fashion industry to rise brilliantly to a challenge, but I am absolutely thrilled, awed, and more than a little proud that it has reacted so brilliantly to this initiative. There is so much planned that we could shop till dawn and still not see and do everything.”
