Nick Knight Unveils His Alexander McQueen Tribute

Famed fashion photographer Nick Knight created the most dramatic and haunting tribute to date in honor of the late Alexander McQueen. Presented at the British Fashion Awards (where McQueen was posthumously awarded Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design), the short film features music by Bjork and the styling talents of Edward Enninful.

"We felt it was important to have the clothes featured one last time on flesh and blood before the [Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art] takes them away," Knight said.

Vanity Fair Fails to Credit Lady Gaga’s Stylist

While fans and readers are ga ga over Lady Gaga‘s new Vanity Fair cover, one of her own was excluded from the magazine’s credits.

“thanks vanity fair for NOT crediting me in the story….VANITY UN-FAIR .....agrhhh!!!! (sic)” wrote stylist Nicola Formichetti on his Twitter page.

Will Gaga stick up for her monster? Let’s hope that Vanity Fair issues an apologetic statement—while Gaga receives an overwhelming amount of praise on her own, it’s nice to give credit when credit is due.

Kate Moss Dances in Latest Topshop Collection

Kate Moss’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection for Topshop may not be hitting stores until Thursday, but she’s keeping us entertained until then by showcasing the clothes in a video of her dancing in them!

Directed by fashion photographer Nick Knight, Moss glows and touts her stylish self against a brightly-lit background. Look carefully and you’ll catch a smile from the usually sullen-faced supermodel. Look even more carefully and you’ll see her flash her assets at the end of the video!

Nick Knight Adores Kate Moss

Kate Moss is a fantastic model because she makes you want to buy the clothes she wears.

Renowned photographer Nick Knight - who has shot the supermodel on many occasions - has praised Moss for her ability to make any shoot work.

“I’ve known Kate for many years and she’s a fantastic model. She can put a little black T-shirt on and make it look like the exact T-shirt you want to buy this season. And that’s a real skill - she understands the narrative in clothing, and expresses that perfectly. That’s her great skill.”

No matter how many times Knight - whose exhibition Showstudio: Fashion Revolution is running at London’s Somerset House - has worked with Moss, he insists he never grows tired of photographing her because she’s always got something new to offer. “No, it’s never hard to come up with anything new for Kate. It’s a conversation that keeps on going. She’s always got something fascinating to say and I’m always very excited to meet her and to see her again. I never tire of photographing her.”

Knight has worked with most of the biggest names in fashion, including Alexander McQueen, Yohji Yamamoto, Calvin Klein and Christian Dior.

Nick Knight Joins Naomi Campbell in Fighting Industry Racism

Nick Knight thinks that the fashion industry is racist.

The photographer claims the profession is geared towards white models and is unhappy that some industry professionals are reluctant to work with black models.

“I’ve always I’ve always found the fashion industry to be extremely racist, to the point that I don’t know how they get away with it. When I first started I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, ‘We can’t have a black model—they’re not aspirational.’ You can’t say that!”

Supermodel Naomi Campbell agrees with Nick, previously claiming she wasn’t given as much work as other models because of her skin color.

Speaking about Naomi’s anger, Nick said, “Talk to Naomi and she’s f***ing incandescent with rage that she’s not on the cover of Vogue. She puts it down to racism.”

Naomi, who has been on the cover of British Vogue eight times, has previously spoken about racism in the fashion industry.
