Oscar winner Kate Winslet says being stylish is hard work. The Mildred Pierce star admits being a busy working mother often leaves her with little time to plan her wardrobe, but praises American knitwear brand St John with helping her to look good.
"Being a person who wants to be able to pull off something that is stylish and comfortable and needing to be able to pull a good look together with not much time can often be extremely difficult but a company like St. John makes it so simple. The clothes are cut beautifully, the fabrics are elegant, you can look extremely chic without trying too hard. You don't feel that the clothes are something that only a model would be able to wear and obviously I'm not a model, I don't have a model shape, I have a real shape. These are the kind of clothes that I would wear, functional and practical. The St. John collection is effortless and chic, and I think speaks to how real women live and dress today," said Kate, who recently became the face of the brand.
Creative director George Sharp has previously said the star "captures the style" of the brand's targeted female audience:

Supermodel Claudia Schiffer is to launch her own cashmere collection.
The model-turned-designer has teamed up with German knitwear brand Iris von Arnim (IvA) to create a range, which will represent her personal ethos and style.
“I have been looking for the right partnership for a very long time and I feel very lucky to have found it with IvA. We have the same inherent values and I was delighted to find a company that was able to interpret my vision.”
“Claudia is a global fashion icon, a woman with impeccable taste who has a strong vision and knows exactly what she wants for her line. We are thrilled to be working together and very much looking forward to the future,” the company added.
The mother-of-three has previously spoken of her desire to create her own fashion line, but would only design clothes she would wear: “I have been approached so many times over the last 20 years but it has never been the right time. Now, I would consider it but it would have to be the right thing. They would need to be clothes that I would want to wear.”

Fashion designer Louise Goldin has once again collaborated with Topshop for their current Fall/Winter ‘09 collection, and she’s going sci-fi with the knitwear!
“The collection was inspired by Transformers and robots. I have a collection of Transformer memorabilia, both old and new; I find it very inspirational. I wanted to create a range of cool jumpers; I emblazoned some jumpers with robot artworks, and I looked at the various style lines and colors from the body armor of Transformer action figures to create dresses, leggings and tops. A particular favorite - the robot jumper with the leggings, and of course the shoes which will be coming soon!”
