Jean-Paul Gaultier EyewearJean-Paul Gaultier will launch an eyewear collection with close friend Alain Mikli.

The French designer has revealed the range - which will be released in February - will go on display at the Dallas Museum in the 'Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk' exhibit from today until February 12.

The 12 pairs of eyeglasses and eight sunglasses will retail for between $285 and $400. In August, Jean-Paul - famed for developing Madonna's Conical bra for her 1990 Blonde Ambition Tour - revealed plans to develop a "provocative" lingerie collection with Italian brand La Perla. He said the collaboration "was bound to happen," adding, "Lingerie is part of my DNA: I have always used it in my collections. With La Perla, I have found a perfect partner."

The designer added the collection will continue to enforce his strong view of female empowerment: "I would like to give women freedom to be who they are. I personally think women are the stronger sex; that they are more intelligent and much stronger than us men, and I always wanted to show a strong woman who seduces because she wants to."
