Items Du Jour: Siriano Designs Sponges and Beyonce’s New Look

Beyonce behind the scenes of her new music video-- Freelance model/photographer/retoucher Felice Fawn defends and provides proof of her Facebook conversation with Terry Richardson, which (not surprisingly) perpetuated his sleazy image. A fan of his work, Fawn is still holding out that the person who messaged her was a fraud.

-- American Apparel is supposedly even closer to filing bankruptcy.

-- Male model Eric Zentner -- who appeared in Versace ads, Teen Vogue editorials, and a Katy Perry music video -- was killed in a hit and run accident while he was en route to visit his mother last Saturday. Police are still searching for the suspect.

-- Beyonce was spotted on the set of her latest music video, which features the first single off her new album. In the photos, she wears Roberto Cavalli Pre-Spring 2011 and Fall/Winter 2011. Like her gal pal Gaga, she seems to have again reinvented her look.

Fashion designer Matthew Williamson Kate Middleton

"Kate isn’t a fashion bunny. I don’t know why everyone in fashion is waiting to see what she wears. I’m, like, thinking: get over it."

- English fashion designer Matthew Williamson on the future duchess, Kate Middleton.

Androgynous It Model Andrej Pejic Stars in JPG Campaign

Andrej Pejic and Karolina Kurkova

Jean Paul Gaultier's Spring/Summer 2011 campaign preview is out, photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The photos star Karolina Kurkova and Andrej Pejic -- can you tell who's who?

I could be casting off the images because Love beat them to the punch with their Lea T/Kate Moss cover, but I just don't think that Gaultier's version is as interesting, considering they're creating the illusion of a gay couple. Well, I suppose it wouldn't be an illusion to those who have no idea Andrej is a male model. On a different note, I understand that Gaultier needs his logo in there somewhere, but does it have to be so blatant and distracting?

For a better look at Andrej's feminine face, check out the other photo after the jump.

Items Du Jour: Japan Infiltrates Givenchy, Natalie’s Ring, and Lazy Lagerfeld

Natalie Portman's Engagement Ring-- Riccardo Tisci borrowed a little inspiration from the East for Givenchy's Spring 2011 couture collection, which was modeled by an exclusively Asian cast. Like last year (much to many celebrities' dismay, I'm sure), Tisci limited the guest list to wealthy serious buyers.

-- Don't you wish you could vote Miuccia Prada into office? Well, the designer says that a life of politics is not out of the question.

-- A touch of Playboy bunny, a dash of Pirates of the Caribbean, and a sprinkle of Katy Perry make for Rihanna's upcoming music video for her song, "S&M."

-- Oscar nominee Natalie Portman's fiancé Benjamin Millepied looked to dancer-turned-jewelry designer Jamie Wolf when it came to choosing a one-of-a-kind design for the actress. "We wanted everything about the ring to speak to things that are important to Natalie," Wolf tells InStyle.

-- Who is Karl Lagerfeld's worst critic? Himself! The famed fashion designer tells Vogue that -- despite designing for his own label, Chanel, and Fendi -- he "could do better," and that he is "never pleased" with himself. He then gets pretentious by talking about how he reads pretentious books.

Quote of the Day: Tom Ford on His Naked Interview

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Fashion Designers, News,

"I explained how when I come home I actually take off all my clothes, and I wear no clothes until I leave. I eat naked. I do everything completely naked. He said, 'That would make a great interview.' I said, 'Fine, we have to do it nude.' ... Anyway, we did the interview. The interviewer was straight, and I made it a point to desexualize the interview even though I was sitting with my legs wide open, completely naked. At the end of the interview, I put on a dressing gown and he put on his clothes, and I sat next to him on the sofa and said, 'Was that sexual?' He said, 'Absolutely not.' And I said, 'That’s because I didn’t make it sexual. Sexuality is in the eyes, it’s an expression, it’s in a look.' Then, all of a sudden, I looked at him in a very different way, and it made him very nervous."

-- Fashion designer Tom Ford on a very nontraditional interview he once had.

Milan Menswear Fashion Week Brings Fun,Color

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, Models, News, Rumors,

Vivienne Westwood Menswear Fall/Winter 2011Vivienne Westwood's menswear collection was a hit at Milan Menswear Fashion Week yesterday.

The British designer managed to bring a touch of fun to the showcase as she sent her male models - wearing the brand's Fall/Winter 2011 designs - down the catwalk sporting slicked back hair and crimson lipstick. The streamlined collection included checks, 50s tailoring, patterned knits and elaborate prints.

Marni and Emporio Armani also showcased their collections yesterday while Missoni focused on bright colors and vivid prints, with an eye-catching raincoat one of the highlights.

Burberry Prorsum and Roberto Cavalli opened Milan Menswear Fashion Week on Saturday with Dolce & Gabbana using the color red to brighten up their designs. Milan will finish today with shows by Gucci, Versace and Pringle of Scotland, but all eyes will be on Sarah Burton as she shows her second Alexander McQueen men's range after enjoying rave reviews last year.

Paris Menswear Fashion Week will kick off on Wednesday with the Thierry Mugler show where Lady Gaga has been confirmed as "musical director."

Fashion Police: Kim Kardashian as a Devilish Mermaid

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers,

Kim Kardashian at this year's Critic's Choice Movie Awards

Is she wearing her Halloween costume backwards?

Reality star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian appeared at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards (why anyone asked her to present a movie award is probably the better question) in a burnt orange Vera Wang gown looking like a wrinkly mess that crawled out from under the sea.

Should her family be arrested on the grounds that they allowed her to go out in public like this, or is it a nice change for the usually cleavage-happy Kardashian?

(Check out more questionable fashion looks here.)

Quote of the Day: Giles Deacon on Resort Collections

Giles Deacon designing

"Cruise collections are like a croissant or tagliatelle — they're the bread and butter of your wardrobe. They're becoming more and more like full collections. Customers want new products through the seasons and you have keep them wanting more. If you want to stay relevant in this industry you have to keep upping the ante."

-- Fashion designer Giles Deacon describes the essence of cruise and resort collections.
