Audrey Hepburn’s Expensive Clothes

Audrey HepburnAudrey Hepburn’s designer clothes collection sold at auction for over $400,000.

A set of 36 items belonging to the actress went up for sale in London’s La Galleria this past week, including a cocktail dress worn by the screen legend in the film How to Steal a Million - which raised $97,000.

Tanja Star-Busmann - who had been friends with Audrey from the age of 15 - revealed the actress was always a fan of passing her unwanted clothes on. She wrote in the auction guide:

“Over the years a cavalcade of boxes filled to the brim with haute-couture evening dresses, divine little cocktail ensembles, easy-to-wear silk supper dresses, sensible tweed coats, chic little day suits and glamorous dressing gowns, often accompanied by wonderful accessories, arrived at my door. Unpacking them was always like Christmas a thousand times over.”

The pricey cocktail dress was not the only item to sell well. A luxurious black silk gown which belonged to the late actress - who died in 1993 - sold for $27,000, and an exquisite wedding dress went under the hammer for $22,000. In 2007, a cocktail dress worn by the legendary actress in Breakfast at Tiffany’s sold for almost $162,600.

Victoria Beckham Collection Hijacked

Victoria Beckham in one of the stolen dressesGreatly resembling an outrageous, fictional plot, Victoria Beckham is sadly the victim of grand theft.

Nearly worth $600,000, Beckham’s dress collection (estimated at 50 to 75 pieces) were stolen last Thursday while en route to the airport for delivery to New York.

“Everyone from Madonna to Elle Macpherson has been seen wearing Victoria’s dresses and, as a result, they’ve developed a money-can’t-buy exclusivity about them. This operation was meticulously planned. The thieves must feel they can make a fortune selling the collection on the black market. The lorry was on its way to the airport where the spring/summer collection was to be flown to New York designers Neiman Marcus. After pick-up from Victoria’s London offices, the van was followed to another address,” a source said.

Cameras taped the robbery; however, the thieves’ license plate is too blurry to decipher. The dresses are expected to be remade (each dress reportedly has over 4,000 people on the waiting list).

Baby Phat Belted Linen Shirt Dress: The Little Black Dress With Sass

Posted by Monica Edwards Categories: Women, Baby Phat, Dresses, Plus Size,

BabyPhat dressI would love to own one of those sexy, clingy, little black dresses that are a go to for many types of occasions, dressed up or down, but some people cannot pull off that clingy look. I am one of those women, so when I saw this dress on ‘s site I fell in love with it. It has a military shirt feel on top but has enough sassy details that stand out to let you know that this was made for a woman with personality and an eye for clothing to bring out her feminine side.

I love the shiny hardware buttons and belt that sits at the waist, but my favorite part is the dainty ruffle trim at the bottom of the dress. It creates a flirty silhouette that is sure to stun. At $84 for the Belted Linen Shirt Dress, it is nothing to sneeze at, but it won’t break the bank either. You deserve to look your best and this little number will make you a stand out.
