Lookbook: L’Wren Scott for Banana Republic

L'Wren Scott for Banana Republic

Target and H&M better look out - Banana Republic's collaboration with high end fashion designer L'Wren Scott is giving them a run for their money when it comes to diffusion lines.

The model-turned-designer recently teamed up with the Gap-owned retailer to put out a collection for next month, and oh how I'd like to get my hands on some of those pieces! From a ruffled, floral jumpsuit and lacy, blue little dress to patterned, deep green suit and the perfect New Year's Eve dress, Scott designed something for every woman (more photos after the jump) but yet with an added touch of her sophisticated, high fashion charm.

You can dust off your credit cards for December 5 (wisely launched during the holiday season!).

Kristin Chenoweth's new haircut+ Because apparently people are still talking about Melissa McCarthy's ELLE Coat-ergate, the funny lady opened up more about her inspiration behind choosing the outerwear piece, claiming that she wanted it to look like "the walk of shame."

+ In addition to getting ready to launch their new fragrance - which is two years in the making - the Olsen twins revealed that they're planning to open up a flagship store for The Row in Los Angeles.

+ Despite the dozens of pleas from fans urging Jay-Z to take a stand against Barney's due to the store being in hot water over racial profiling, the rapper decided to launch his first fragrance there. The fragrance's - called Gold (because, Jay-Z) - launch will coincide with the unveiling of Jay-Z's "New York Holiday" collaboration.

+ Kristin Chenoweth - not unlike Pamela Anderson a few days earlier - decided to do away with most of her hair in favor of a pixie cut.

Zac Posen Wants Everyone to be Trendy

Zac PosenZac Posen thinks trendy clothing should be accessible to everyone.

The designer has teamed up with Lord & Taylor to create a more affordable line, Z Spoke Zac Posen for Lord & Taylor, and says he was inspired to do it so everyone can have the chance to look good.

"I believe that trendy clothing should be accessible. And I want to directly acknowledge that fashion loves bodies. I love women who have bodies and curves, so I really want to embrace that. My ideal are the women on the street," he told People.

Speaking about his clientele, Zac said, "They are trend-driven, flirtatious, socially savvy through media and life on the street. I try to create a collection that can have a youthful quality to it, but has an age-and shape-diverse ability, too."

Zac also revealed he may create an affordable accessories line, if the clothing range does well: "We'll grow the accessories and some other categories that might happen in the future ... that I can't talk about yet!"

Erdem Rules Out High Street Collection

Erdem MoraliogluErdem Moralioglu has ruled out launching a high street collection.

The designer gave a public talk with Colin McDowell at the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London last night, as part of the Fashion Fringe Roadshow in which he said he will be working on his collections, rather than pieces for the high street.

"It's never been the right moment. If it works for some people, then that's wonderful - but it depends on where you're at. For me, it's really important to concentrate on your collection and your own work. Once you start looking at versions of your work, it can get a bit dangerous. One can do it really well and in an interesting way though," he said.

Erdem also played down his links to Dior, and was cagey about being touted as a possible successor for disgraced designer John Galliano: "Anything like that is a compliment. But you just have to concentrate on your job and what you're doing."

Manolo Blahnik Wants to Design Keira’s Shoes

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News,

Manolo BlahnikManolo Blahnik would love to design a pair of shoes for Keira Knightley.

The iconic footwear designer is a huge fan of the stunning actress and says it would be a dream come true to create a bespoke pair of shoes for her: "I saw her first in Bend It Like Beckham and I just loved her. I knew she'd be huge after that film. I went to see her last year in The Children's Hour and she was ravishing, just divine. She's the new Vivien Leigh. I liked her in The Edge of Love too, but she always kills everyone when she's on stage, she's so good. I love Rachel Weisz too - she's very beautiful."

Manolo also revealed he has no plans to collaborate with a high street store on a more affordable footwear range: "I have been approached so many times to do one, but I don't want to work for a big company where I'll have to have lots of meetings where I'm told what I can and can't do. My niece, Kristina, handles that sort of thing for me - it's just not for me. I was recently contacted by J Crew to do something with them, so I sent them over 45 pairs of shoes, and they announced we were doing a collaboration. I had no idea about it!"
