Actress and Karl Lagerfeld’s good friend Diane Kruger has become less critical of herself with age.
The actress used to strive for perfection growing up as a model but has now accepted that a beauty ideal is impossible.
“I’m OK having dark eye circles and not looking my best sometimes. It’s an attitude in life. I used to think it’s what we all think is beautiful - the perfect body, the perfect face, hair, but that’s negative and impossible to reach,” said the 33 year-old.
Diana also believes that everyone is beautiful in their own way.
“I truly believe that every single person has something beautiful about them, externally or internally. We always want what we haven’t got.”
Although Diane believes she has flaws, she is recently became the new face of Calvin Klein and will front the campaign for the fashion house’s new fragrance, Beauty.

Diane Kruger Thinks of Lagerfeld as a Stepfather
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Models, News,
Diane Kruger thinks of Karl Lagerfeld as her “stepfather.”
The stunning actress has a very close relationship with the Chanel designer and says she loves working with him.
“He is like a stepfather to me. We’re very close - we just get on so well. He is a very curious person, he’s very interested in people in general. I’ve known him since I was 16-years-old, ever since I first started to model and he has always been so kind. We go way back. People have said I am his muse but I don’t think I’d call myself that. It’s not how I think of our relationship. That’s big. It’s hard to describe Karl, he really is one of a kind.”
The 33-year-old beauty loves Karl’s designs for Chanel because they are so classic: “What’s not to love about Chanel? It’s timeless, it’s chic. I don’t know many people that don’t like it. I love it.”
While she is a devoted Chanel fan, Diane is also an admirer of Calvin Klein and was recently announced as the new face of the fashion house’s latest fragrance, Beauty.

When in Cannes, donate to a good cause! Penelope Cruz and other Hollywood celebs helped raised $333,000 for Haiti by selling their designer dresses this past week.
The 35-year-old beauty and jewelery maker Chopard raised the sum by organizing an auction for the Jenkins-Penn Haitian Relief Organization at the Cannes Film Festival. Donators to the auction included Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts, Gisele Bundchen, Charlize Theron and Salma Hayek - who raised $21,000 alone for her burgundy Gucci gown, the first from the Italian brand’s new couture range.
An original sketch for the gown by Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini was also sold alongside the creation. Other celebrities who gave outfits included Naomi Watts, Diane Kruger, Scarlett Johansson and Gwyneth Paltrow.
The Jenkins-Penn charity was created by Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn as a response to help the Caribbean nation in its recovery from twos earthquake in January this year. Around 230,000 people were killed and around 1 million made homeless as a result of the quakes.

A stylish look is never complete without a picnic basket…
A favorite of Karl Lagerfeld, it’s no surprise that model-turned-actress Diane Kruger appeared at the Chanel Cruise Show in St. Tropez last night. Kruger, who is the new face of Calvin Klein’s fragrance Beauty, paired a Chanel high-waisted bell-shaped skirt with a simple black tank and fedora in addition to the somewhat-out-of-place basket.
Over the top or just right for a prim and proper Chanel party?

Items Du Jour: Taylor Swift, Martin Scorsese, and L’Oreal Hires Diane Kruger
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Health & Beauty, Models, News, Rumors,
- L’Oreal hires model-turned-actress Diane Kruger as their worldwide spokesperson (not that it was a surprise so much as it was a matter of which makeup company was going to demand a deal with her).
- Kelly Osbourne’s fiancé Luke Worrell experiments with androgyny. He looks just as gorgeous as a woman, too! How unfair is that?
- Taylor Swift rocks some major Prada Swarovski in a high fashion shoot for T: The New York Times Style Magazine; it’s nice to see her break out of her natural style and put those model looks of hers to good use.
- Epic collaborations keep coming! While Dior may be nabbing David Lynch, Karl Lagerfeld is never one to be outdone, recruiting Martin Scorsese to direct a Chanel
short film. What we’re all really wondering is whether or not Leonardo DiCaprio will be making an appearance…
- Lady Gaga, much like her appearance on Jay Leno’s show, toned down her outfit for Barbara Walters. Citing her inspiration as her mother’s classic Chanel suit, Gaga left her body art installations, masks, and heavy makeup at home. Lately, the once pantsless revolution leader has been embracing what she seemed to detest—is this a new age for the singer?
