VIDEO: Emma Watson Models for People Tree

Emma Watson continues to front the People Tree brand, for which she acts as a creative advisor.
This time around, the Harry Potter star is showing off her extremely short hair, and she looks great! She may be selling me on the hair, but I’m not so sure if these summertime dresses would be right for the upcoming cold season. The brand does get major bonus points for being fair-trade.

Lanvin Revealed as H&M Designer
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, News, Rumors,
While they initially had people guessing, H&M revealed Lanvin to be the next fashion house to collaborate with the global brand.
The Swedish high street brand - which has previously collaborated with Stella McCartney, Madonna and Karl Lagerfeld on cheaper ranges - has created a range of luxury clothes in conjunction with Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz, who has previously said he would never work with a mass market store.
“H&M approached us to collaborate, and to see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.”
H&M’s creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch added the brand was “thrilled” about the collection: “We are thrilled about Lanvin’s collection for H&M, it is such an exciting moment. Lanvin will bring to H&M a luxurious French tradition that is also modern and playful. It is very much a Lanvin collection, using their cut and tailoring, with lots of focus on form and details for both women and men.” The range will hit stories on November 23.
Style Advisor Agyness Deyn

Moving from the catwalk to behind-the-scenes, Agyness Deyn is become a style advisor.
The supermodel has teamed up with journalist Fiona Byrne to create website naag.com, which will give fashion tips and their take on the latest trends.
“We’re not shoving anything down your throat. We’re just saying ‘This is rad.’ We’re not saying ‘You have to like this,’” Deyn said.
The website has already had some big coups, with profiles of Mark Ronson and Juliette Lewis, who are both friendly with the 25-year-old beauty. “I think because we’re friends, they trust us and like what we’re doing,” Deyn said of their involvement.
However, their dream interview would be with designer Alexander Wang: “He’s one of the most real people in fashion. Totally unpretentious and fun.” Although she will be giving out advice, last year Agyness revealed she isn’t a huge fashion fan and won’t pursue a catwalk career forever.
“You know, even though I’m in fashion, I don’t, like, do fashion. Fashion isn’t me, even though I work in it. It’s just materialistic stuff. I just want to do whatever makes me happy.”
Emanuel Ungaro Slams Lindsay Lohan Collection
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News, Rumors,
We’ve heard what Lindsay has to say about her failed collection at the House of Emanuel Ungaro; so what does the designer whose name is still used by the fashion label?
Apparently the 76 year-old, who sold the house to an investment fund four years ago, calls it a “disaster,” but unfortunately nothing he can control: “I’m furious but there isn’t a thing I can do. I have absolutely no link with that house.”
The line, which Lohan was appointed Artistic Advisor a month before the collection’s debut at Paris Fashion Week, was designed by Estrella Archs and well-received by the company itself.
Ungaro believes that this fashion debacle occurred because he sold his soul: “This happens to a lot of designers. We were creator/owners, responsible for both the designs of the house and its destiny. But when you give up your house, we’ve also given up our soul.”
Selling one’s soul tends to be associated with acquiring money from a business deal - he didn’t give it up for free (unlike Lohan)!

Lindsay Lohan Worked For Free
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Fashion Shows, Rumors,
The Lindsay Lohan-Ungaro debacle continues to be making headlines; this time, reports are saying that the starlet wasn’t paid for her creative advisor position.
The 23-year-old actress worked on designs with the fashion house’s new head designer Estrella Archs for three weeks, but was given $147,000 worth of free clothes in place of payment.
A source revealed, “Ungaro is not paying her at all to be a consultant for them. Her team is working to get Lindsay some form of payment from the fashion house, but right now they will only give her free clothes. The deal is perfect for them - they have nothing to lose, even though the clothes were not a big hit.”
It has even been claimed she paid for her flight and hotel at Paris Fashion Week herself, when her range debuted there earlier this month. The line, which she described as “a dream come true,” was slammed as “underwhelming” and “non-skilled” by fashion journalists.
But speaking about her clothes, Lindsay defiantly said, “Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I didn’t expect everyone to be completely loving the collection.”
Lindsay Lohan Places Ungaro Blame Elsewhere

I hate
love to say it: everyone told you so, Ungaro.
Critics did not bide well with the House of Emanuel Ungaro’s Spring/Summer ‘10 collection, which debuted at Paris Fashion Week. All eyes, naturally, were glaring at the much-buzzed about celebrity advisor Lindsay Lohan, and she wasn’t willing to take the hits without a fight.
The first of her many excuses was “coming in so late and having not that much time to do a whole collection.” As if she didn’t revel in the positive, hopeful stories on her exciting appointment—accepting the offer so last minute wasn’t exactly something the currently-blonde actress thought out.
She also claims to have no idea about those infamous nipple tassels: “I wasn’t aware of the nipple tassels on the girls until they were walking out.” Surely she must have been intoxicated during that meeting.
The best explanation was her inexperience card, which she actually believed to be legitimate, stating that she’s “still learning.” Shouldn’t someone be firing her already? There’s a reason why people aren’t employing her in films, people.

Emma Watson Designs Line For People Tree
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News, Men, Women,
Let’s face it, an Emma Watson clothing range was always in the works ever since magazines and Karl Lagerfeld took the fashionista under their wing. It has finally arrived—and it’s an ethical one, too!
The Harry Potter actress has teamed up with People Tree for the new collection, which is aimed at people aged 16 to 24.
“I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with. I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian and environmental issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren’t many options out there.”
Emma, who is the face of Burberry, has taken on the role of creative advisor for the new line (Lindsay Lohan?), which comprises cotton skirts, T-shirts, jersey garments and jewelery.
She tried to inject some of her own personal style into the pieces and used her favorite locations, including South France, London, and music festivals, as inspiration.
There are 26 women’s pieces and 15 men’s looks in the range, which is largely made from organic and fairly traded cotton. The collection is handmade by fair trade groups and helps people make money in Bangladesh, India, and Nepal.
