Roberto Cavalli Accepts Design Advice, Wants to Get Pregnant

Roberto Cavalli is not afraid to ask for help when it comes to his clothing collections. Despite his label recently celebrating its 40th anniversary, the legendary designer says he is happy to have input from other people as he wants to keep his creations interesting and up-to-date.
"To keep up with the tam-tam of fashion, we need help from stylists. For Armani, it is enough to change one lapel on one jacket. From us the people expect new design, new style, new way to attract the new boyfriend."

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News,

Zoe Saldana wants to work with Prabal Gurung on a clothing line. The <i>Avatar</i> actress is a huge fan of the designer and his creations and is keen to team up with him to work on a range of apparel.
"Prabal Gurung has been a very good friend for many years. I am in awe of the way he has carried himself and his designs recently. It would be amazing to collaborate with him."
Zoe, who once launched a clothing line with her sisters, says her designs would be inspired by her personality and style: "Our personal interpretation of art is what defines us and distinguishes us from each other. I think we should always stay true to that."
Zoe recently revealed how she thought fashion is an "art form" and loves taking time to put an outfit together as she knows it's important to get the right look. "Five years ago my sisters and I created our own brand, called Arasmaci, but we actually produced no more than a few T-shirts and some accessories because I became overwhelmed by <i>Avatar</i>. "For many people, including a lot of actresses, fashion is all about brand names, logos, status symbols, but for me, it's an art form."

French designer Jean Paul Gaultier is to launch his own furniture line. The designer has teamed up with interiors firm Roche Bobois to create the range, which will maintain his sexy signature style.
“For me, life is all about self-expression, whether it’s on your body or in your home,” he told the New York Post.
According to Gaultier, the collection - which will be unveiled on Thursday at New York’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House - features “a sectional sofa with sex appeal: mattress-like modules that incorporate my signature tattoo prints and sailor stripes, as well as a portrait of lovers who are about to kiss. This sofa brings the bedroom into any room in your house.”

Kate Moss to Work With Sir Philip Green
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, Models, News,
Model-turned-Topshop designer Kate Moss is “still working” for Sir Philip Green.
Last month, it was reported the British supermodel will complete her work with the billionaire businessman’s store Topshop when her Fall/Winter collection comes out in October. Kate has now revealed she is continuing her working relationship with Philip and the pair will definitely collaborate on another project.
Speaking at the launch of her boyfriend Jamie Hince’s new movie premiere last night, Kate exclusively told BANG Showbiz, “Yeah, I’m still working with Philip. We will do something together in the future.”
Philip recently insisted the pair would work together on something “very special” and confirmed the end of her Topshop association was not the end of their professional relationship: “It isn’t a split. There are two or three very special projects we have in mind, which we will do as and when. They have to be unique, special and they have to have her stamp on them.”

Iman Wants More Collaborative Models
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, Fashion Shows, Models, News,
Iman thinks it’s shame models no longer work closely with designers.
The supermodel - who was named as this year’s Fashion Icon at last night’s Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awards - wishes the beauties of today were able to have more input into what they wear, like she did.
“In my day it was, ‘Do you like that? Would you wear it that way?’ You could be your own person. And nobody walked the same way on the runway. Don’t get me wrong, there are great girls today. But they have lost that role, of collaborating with the designers. There is not that relationship anymore.”
The Somalian-born beauty - who is married to music legend David Bowie - also admitted it was very flattering to be given the award and said she can’t wait for hot young designer Alexander Wang to now dress her: “The award came as a surprise but it does the ego good. I plan to take Alexander up on his offer to dress me now!”
Iman, 55, has had a diverse and wide-ranging fashion career, appearing as a high fashion model to designers including Calvin Klein and Yves Saint Laurent, and in 2007 she launched her own signature make-up line on the Home Shopping Network. She also works for a number of charities including the Children’s Defence Fund and Keep a Child Alive.
Pixie Lott Teams Up with Lipsy

Singer Pixie Lott has designed an exclusive fashion range which pays homage to her sense of style.
Lott has teamed up with British high street brand Lipsy to create a clothing collection, using her own unique look as the inspiration: “I have always been a big fan of Lipsy - I love what the brand stands for and I’m having great fun working with such a talented a creative team.”
The Pixie Collection has two distinct looks - Pixie Festival and Pixie Party - with both complimenting Lipsy’s sexy attitude. Vintage style cotton dresses, bleached denim, maxi dresses and fringed waistcoats make up Pixie Festival while Pixie Party consists of sexy chiffon layered dresses, oversized animal prints and studded vest dresses.
Jeremy Stakol, Lipsy’s CEO, said of the collaboration, “Pixie has string ideas about fashion, understands product and has her own unique style. She is exactly what Lipsy is all about in terms of fashion - we’re really pleased with the collection and confident it will be the top of every girl’s shopping list.”
The range will launch in the UK next month.
First Look: Louise Goldin For Topshop
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Fashion Designers, News, Sales, Women, Footwear,

Judging by photos of her first shoe collection for Topshop, Louise Goldin is still very much inspired by the science-fiction fare.
Set to hit Topshop boutiques this February and March, Goldin’s killer footwear resemble those that appeared at Rodarte’s Spring/Summer 2009.
The thought of pairing these statement-making heels with Spring/Summer 2010 looks makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Imagine them with those gorgeous Lanvin dresses or swapping Alexander Wang’s animal print shoes for these! Will you be sporting these alluring-yet-deadly shoes?
