Abercrombie & Fitch Corporation Apologizes for CEO’s Remarks

If you want a thing done well, do it yourself. Especially when your CEO is Mike Jeffries.
Because the Abercrombie & Fitch CEO's unapologetic apology over his controversial, exclusionary comments was received poorly (not surprisingly) and exacerbated the current online anti-Abercrombie campaigns, the folks at corporate decided to take matters into their own hands. Prompted by 18-year-old Benjamin O'Keefe's - an eating disorder survivor who began the Change.org petition urging the clothing company to expand its women's sizing - online action, executives at Abercrombie & Fitch met with the teenager and members of the National Eating Disorder Association in order to discuss changes in the company.

Items Du Jour: Rooney Scores Dior, Doutzen Pulls an Angelina

+ Considering she has both the face and body for high fashion, it's no wonder that actress Rooney Mara has signed with Dior to lend her face to their Down Town fragrance campaign. Naturally, her face is so gorgeously distracting that it's barely apparent that the photo is an ad for a perfume.
+ Model Doutzen Kroes imitates Angelina Jolie's famous 2010 Oscar dress, showing off some serious leggage at the Cannes Film Festival in Atelier Versace (albeit, looking somewhat like a superhero).
+ Despite her doctor's orders to avoid tight-fitting shoes, a very pregnant Kim Kardashian was spotted desperately trying to squeeze into her Givenchy heels.
+ Harper's Bazaar features supermodel Christy Turlington on next month's cover, which notes that she's still fabulous at 44 - as if we still didn't need reminding since she turned 40.

Items Du Jour: Vuitton Has a New CEO, a Kate Moss Doc, and January Goes Dark

+ Louis Vuitton's CEO of 22 years, Leo Carcelle, has stepped down, leaving Jordi Constans to take his place.
+ Kate Moss has revealed that she will soon be followed by a camera crew in order to create a tell-all documentary about her life. Having tied the knot and largely kept out of the tabloids lately, a documentary of her day-to-day life doesn't seem all that enticing...
+ January Jones was spotted with brunette locks while out with her son Xander. The natural blonde has been a redhead for a role in the past, but there's no word yet as to whether or not a similar cause prompted the color change.
+ Although she was spotted looking frighteningly normal at Sunday's American Music Awards, Kesha is back to her old ways, photographed in a zany pants suit and floral top with leopard-printed creepers at JFK airport in New York.
Items Du Jour: KStew Wears Victoria, Everyone Forgets How to Dress Well at EMAs

+ Although Kristen Stewart seems to favor t-shirts and sneakers when not on a publicity tour, but she cleans up quite well when she is! Although she doesn't seem too much of a Victoria Beckham fan, Stewart looked great in an orange number from the popstar-turned-designer's eponymous line at an appearance on Live with Kelly and Michael.
+ EMA host Heidi Klum may have worn Versace the whole night of the event, but not all of them seem to be the best of fashion choices. The same goes for the rest of the stars that evening - Lana Del Rey wore the most plainest black dress while Kim Kardashian looked like she was wearing a train of black trash bags.
+ Want a pair of heels you might have seen on display at the Victoria's Secret fashion show? Unfortunately, designer Nicholas Kirkwood says he's not selling them - unless you want to special order some through his stores, of course. He also seems to hint at the possibility of collaborating with the lingerie giant in the future.
Alistair Carr Leaves Pringle

Alistair Carr is leaving Pringle of Scotland.
The sartorialist - who had previously worked at Balenciaga - was appointed the British label's design director last March following the departure of Clare Waight Keller, but has decided to move on. Pringle of Scotland's future collections will be created by its existing in-house team.
"I want to thank Alistair for all his great efforts and contributions at Pringle. We will miss him, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors," said the brand's CEO Jean Fang.
Fang described Carr's departure as a "mutual decision," and also said Pringle will show its forthcoming ready-to-wear offerings via presentation rather than on the catwalk. Carr will still art direct the brand's Fall/Winter 2012-13 campaign and will show his Spring/Summer 2013 menswear collection in mid-June.
The designer joined the brand in March 2011, having also worked at Marni, Cacharel and Chloe. He also showed his own label at London Fashion Week for three seasons. His next move is not yet known.
