Jennifer Lawrence Hated How She Looked in Couture Dior Gown

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty, News,

Jennifer LawrenceYes, you sadly read that title correctly: Jennifer Lawrence has come out and said that what was probably her best The Hunger Games: Catching Fire red carpet look was not her favorite!

"I think any time a girl has to show her thighs it's never going to be her favorite look," she said on Good Morning America.

Although I usually eat up Lawrence's quotes, I'm still reeling from this one, considering she looked nothing but breathtaking and badass all at the same time in her Dior Haute Couture gown. Perhaps because she took a moment to realize that the dress was amazing, as she quickly clarified: "I loved it, I loved the dress -- if someone else wore it. It's hard for any woman to look at a picture of herself and [like it]."

Oh say it isn't so - our great defender of body positivity has let societal body pressures get to her when it came to this particular red carpet look. Let's hope she realizes that she's beautiful no matter what her thighs are and that she can definitely pull any gorgeous frock off with her adorable pixie cut!

Isaac Mizrahi: Too-Skinny Models Are a Problem of the Past

Isaac MizrahiFashion designer Isaac Mizrahi believes that models' body issues are a thing of the past.

Despite three fashion models dying in the past six years from eating disorders and some still coming out these days saying that they're recovering from eating disorders, Mizrahi claims that such issues are no longer problems in today's industry:

"I don't notice girls anymore in the majority who are sickly-looking. Even if they're tall and thin now, they look healthier to me. Not fat, not fatter, but they just look healthier. I mean this -- there was a moment when there was this whole heroin chic thing and it just looked terrible. It just looked terrible! And now everyone points at it and goes, 'Oh dear, that's terrible.' And the girls are encouraged to be thin, but I don't think they're encouraged to look like drug addicts anymore. I mean, I'm sure there are some designers who like the girls to look like drug addicts, but not on the whole the way it was for a good 10 years -- like, in the middle of the '90s to around 2002 or so. There was that thing going on, and it was sickening, absolutely sickening. I don't think it exists anymore."

Khloe Kardashian ‘Brushes Off’ Weight Jibes

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty,

Khloe KardashianKhloe Kardashian has learned to "brush off" jibes about her weight.

The 27-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is often criticised for her curves, but insists the only person's opinion she cares about is her husband Lamar Odom's.

"People have called me 'fat' and 'different' my whole life. It is something that I have to brush off. Even though it stings, I can't think about what every person has to say and take it personally. Lamar makes me feel like I am the most beautiful woman in the world and that is all that matters to me," she said.

Her mother and manager Kris Jenner recently took aim at Khloe for her weight on an episode of Khloe & Lamar, although she believes her mom did it for the right reasons: "My mum has two roles in my life. She is my mum and my manager. So of course when I heard my mum say that, it stung, but from a manager's point of view, I needed to take what she said and look at it from that perspective."

Jennifer Lawrence on GlamourJennifer Lawrence has laughed off suggestions that she looks "chubby" in The Hunger Games.

The 21-year-old actress - who portrays heroine Katniss Everdeen in the movie - thinks it's "hilarious" that people are suggesting she is too chunky to play the character, as she thinks it promotes an unhealthy lifestyle to young girls.

"Jennifer told me, 'This is hilarious. First, people say how so many actresses in Hollywood look anorexic, and now they are criticizing me for looking normal. Thin body images are too often adopted by young girls and women thanks to what they are constantly being shown as being attractive," a source close to the actress said.

Comments from film critic Todd McCarthy in which he referred to the Winter's Bone star as possessing "lingering baby fat" and Jeffrey Wells calling her a "big-boned lady" unleashed a torrent of furious responses from Hunger Games fans.

Emma Stone: I’ve Not Worked Out For a Month

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty,

Emma Stone at this year's OscarsEmma Stone hasn't worked out for a month - and she is "proud." The 23-year-old Spider-Man star admits she gets overcome by rage in the gym, so has decided that it is best to avoid it.

"I had a trainer during Spider-Man and I discovered I have deep-seated rage when I'm holding heavy weights over my head. Whatever dormant anger I have in me, that's where it comes out. That's not the kind of working out I want to do. I would much rather sleep at night than want to throw a weight across a room at someone. I'm usually a pretty peaceful person, but for some reason when I get in the gym something bubbles up in me."

But while she admits to being plagued by body insecurities, she had a cunning trick to disguise them: "I do have that thing of, 'Oh my God, I'm disgusting! I ate a huge Wagamama lunch, the whole yaki soba, and I feel so fat.' But I'm still going to eat that stuff, and you know what? You can get nice, loose clothes that cover it all up... I'm not going to go parading around in a bikini. OK, I did that in a photo shoot once, but it's about what you're comfortable with at the time you're comfortable with it. That was a good day, but you won't hear me saying I have no body issues because I wouldn't be human if I didn't."

Lara Stone Has Body Hang-Ups

Lara Stone for Calvin KleinNewlywed model Lara Stone doesn't like "most of" her body.

The Dutch 27 year-old is famed for her amazing figure, but admits she has her hang-ups and there are days when she doesn't want to leave the house because of how she's feeling.

"Most of it. It depends on the day. Like most women, I have days where I feel like today I'm not leaving the house - you know days where you've got a spot on your nose or when you've just got off a flight, eaten fish and chips and feel really bloated - that one happens a lot to me. You have to accept yourself though, and accept that there will always be something to worry about. It's much easier just to accept things," she said when asked which part of her body she isn't so keen on.

Although she isn't body confident, Lara has appeared in campaigns for many fashion houses and is one of the first models to represent so many different facets of the Calvin Klein brand, including lingerie, Calvin Klein Collection and its fragrances. "I love being part of so many elements of Calvin Klein, it's so nice to be able to be all these different women. You lose track of your identity a bit. There are many different aspects in different women and I think this is reflected in the different campaigns. All those facets are a part of me."
