Kate Moss Reveals Tattoo Is Worth Millions
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Models,
Kate Moss believes one of her tattoos is worth millions. The supermodel has revealed the late world-renowned artist Lucien Freud did the inking of two birds on her lower back and thinks it is probably worth a fortune.
The 38-year-old beauty told Vanity Fair, "He told me about when he was in the navy, when he was 19 or something, and he used to do all of the tattoos for the sailors. And I said, 'Oh my God, that's amazing.' And he went, 'I can do you one. What would you like? Would you like creatures of the animal kingdom?' I said I liked birds and he replied, 'I've done birds. I've got it in my book.' And he pointed down at a painting of a chicken upside down in a bucket. And I said, 'No, I'm not having that.' And then he said, 'Maybe I should just do you.' And I thought, I'm not going to have a girl on my a***. So we decided to do a flock of birds. I mean, it's an original Freud. I wonder how much a collector would pay for that? A few million? If it all goes horribly wrong I could get a skin graft and sell it! It's probably the only one on skin that's still around, because when he was in the navy he was about 19. Can you imagine?"
The model became close to the acclaimed artist when he painted her in the nude while she was pregnant with her daughter Lila Grace in 2002. The painting was sold to an anonymous bidder at auction in 2005.

Louis Vuitton to Collaborate with Yayoi Kusama

Louis Vuitton is to team up with Yayoi Kusama for a new collection.
Marc Jacobs, creative director of the French fashion house - which last worked with Yayoi in February when it offered her financial support for her collection at the Tate Modern - is looking forward to teaming up with the Japanese artist again for the range because he "admires" her "endless" energy: "Her energy is just endless. Through the painstaking sort of obsession in each of her canvasses and installations that she's created, you see this world that never ends. I guess that's what I admire and that's what I respond to in terms of feeling for her and for her work."

Jimmy Choo to Work with Rob Pruitt on New Collection
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, News,
Jimmy Choo is to collaborate with Rob Pruitt on a new Spring/Summer 2013 collection.
The fashion house will join forces with the contemporary artist - who is known for his array of colorful work - on a capsule cruise collection, and the brand is hoping his influence will lead to the creation of some "very collectable and uniquely beautiful" products.
"We were captivated by Pruitt's energy, his computer screen use of color and the festive exuberance of his prints and materials; there were elements in his work that reminded us in subtle ways of the Jimmy Choo design iconography. We sensed that Rob's twist on Jimmy Choo glamour would yield something very collectable and uniquely beautiful," said Jimmy Choo creative directors Sandra Choi and Simon Holloway.
The collection will feature shoes, small leather accessories and handbags, and it is expected to arrive in Jimmy Choo boutiques and online in November 2012.
Nars to Launch Andy Warhol Range

Nars is to launch a new range of color cosmetics inspired by Andy Warhol.
The limited edition collection, entitled Nars Andy Warhol, will be created by founder Francois Nars under license with The Andy Warhol Foundation, and it is said to evoke the cool, image-rich, character-laden world of the late commercial illustrator.
The project will be launched in the US in October and other parts of the world in November and is thought to be the make-up brand's largest strategic collaboration so far.
The company has previously worked with fashion muse Daphne Guinness on a campaign - which saw her wearing a purple eyeshadow inspired by and named after her - citing her as the brand's ideal ambassador.
"She fits the image of the brand so well. She's very creative and elegant and is a chameleon. And she really loves make-up - the whole process of it. Any makeup artist dreams of having someone like that as a muse," Francois said of her.
