Madonna‘s clothing range with daughter Lourdes is an “extension” of her style. The pair have collaborated on a children’s clothing and accessories range for department store Macy’s, and Madonna confesses 13-year-old Lourdes brought much of her own personal style to the collection, entitled Material Girl.

“I think this line is absolutely an extension of her taste. We like to combine a plaid or a flannel with a lace or leather with lace or rhinestones. So we mix and match textures and fabrics and elements that are both masculine and feminine.”

The range, which includes clothes, handbags and jewellery, will range from $12 to $40. The Queen of Pop recently revealed Lourdes regularly takes clothes from her own wardrobe and styles them in ways she wouldn’t think of.

“It’s weird because my closet doesn’t really have that much of that look so she’s somehow figured out a way to do it on her own… thrift shops and taking bits and pieces from her favorite stores… stealing stuff from my closet and she creates this look that is her own, but also influenced by the early ‘80s and the way that I used to dress, so I think it’s in the DNA.”

The Material Girl clothing range will hit stores on August 3.
