Injury Lowdown: Bobby Simmons and Jared Jeffries Out

DescriptionDescription

A pair of starting forwards have been hit with injuries and will miss the start of the regular season. Check out the Injury Lowdown to see how long Bobby Simmons and Jared Jeffries will be out and the fantasy impact for both!

Injury Lowdown:

Bobby Simmons out for 4 Weeks

The Milwaukee Bucks lose another starter to injury. Bobby Simmons will miss at least a month with a stress reaction to his right heel.

Fantasy Lowdown:

Ruben Patterson will get most of the burn at the SF spot with Bobby Simmons out of the lineup. In the 22 games last year as a starter, Ruben averaged 14.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals and an impressive 54.6 FG%. Ruben Patterson the starter could be a nice waiver wire pick-up for the first 3 weeks of the regular season. When Bobby Simmons is healthy, he will return to the starting line-up.

Injury Lowdown:

Jared Jeffries out 3-6 weeks

Jared Jeffries, the Knicks’ free agent acquisition this past summer will be out 3-6 weeks with a non-displaced fractured left wrist.

Fantasy Lowdown:

Jeffries was penciled in as the starting small forward for the Knicks. The best case scenario is Jeffries will miss only the first couple of weeks of the regular season and the worst case being a return at the end of November. Coach Isiah Thomas will have Quentin Richardson and Jalen Rose battle it out for the PT time at the three spot. Don’t be surprised if the minutes will be split down the middle between them. Both players will have marginal fantasy value. Jeffries will be the starting SF when he is healthy.
