Do you want to see pretty much every comic book as it's published?
You could, if you worked for the biggest comic book distributor in the USA. That's Diamond Comic Distributors in Timonium, MD, and they're looking for a few people.
First up is a Customer Service & Sales Representative to “field questions, suggestions, concerns regarding Diamond policy, service, etc. from customers in an assigned territory.”
Mostly it’s a lot of “no I don’t know when or if that book is ever coming out.”
Next they want a Domestic and International Sales Account Executive who can “aggressively prospect for new customers and increase our customer base while maintaining a strong relationship with established accounts.”

Comic Book Jobs: Manga, Interns & Call Centers! Oh My!

Comic book jobs are never easy to find, but here are three that look, well, different.
Anarchy Management is a “management company that represents writers/directors and independent comic book publishers.” They need an intern to do coverage and make development notes – from home – and if you do well, you’ll get invited to meetings with production companies as management’s sidekick. Alas, college credit only.
According to this odd little website called Bilingual Manga, a comic book company is looking for freelance manga artists, who are “Japanese, English, French, (or) Chinese,” and who don’t have “too much sex & violence.” If your samples can pass through their application process, then you could land an assignment from them. Payment “depends on skills, genre.”

It’s not often that you find a job listing from a comic book distributor floating around on the internets.
Diamond Comic Distributors in Timonium, Maryland is the largest comic book and graphic novel distributor, the sole survivor of the publisher exclusive wars of the mid-1990s. After many layoffs over the last couple of years, they’re now looking for a Pop Culture Sales Representative. Just having that title on my business card would make me a very happy guy. I’ve always wanted to sell “pop culture.”
Your primary focus in this entry level position will be expanding “sales of action figures, toys, and collectibles to retailers” and to “continue to promote DCD as a regular distribution source for these accounts that exist outside of the traditional comic book retail market.”
