Is Dark Metamorpho appealing to you? Do you envision a revamp of Challengers of the Unknown as a band of roving serial killers? Then you might want to be involved in the New 52 @ DC Comics!
And now’s your chance: they’re looking for both an Editor and an Assistant Editor.
For the Editor position, it’s in DC’s east coast office in Manhattan and is part of the DCU. You’ll be handling a minimum of 5 monthly titles.
For the Assistant Editor position, it’s also in Manhattan, but doesn’t make it clear that it’s in the DCU department.
For both positions, “Knowledge of comic book industry strongly preferred.”
Good luck, job seekers!

Comic Book Jobs: British Comics

Toxic, one of the wacky British comics magazines (that competes with Dandy and The Beano) is looking for an "Experienced sub-editor/writer."
What's a sub-editor, you may ask? Well, in the US, it means copy editor, but here it means you'd be the acting assistant editor.
Toxic is published by Egmont, the huge Scandanavian publishing conglom. The mag is for boys aged 7-12, and in addition to articles and such on sports and movies and pop culture, they also feature jokes, comics and competitions. As they say, "anything and everything that’s in a boys life. Especially if it makes him laugh."
Egmont UK is seeking a "creative and experienced person with a proven track record in sub-editing & writing & general." Experience in digital and online "would be an advantage," but above all they want someone "enthusiastic about children’s publishing!"
If you're interested, then you'd better hurry. The listing closes on March 25.
Good luck, job seekers!

Comic Book Jobs: DC Comics Assistant Editor
Posted by Tom Mason Categories: Editorials, DC Comics,
Here’s yet another comic book job that you often don’t see listed on a formal job site.
DC Comics is looking for an Assistant Editor in DC Editorial for their Archives Group.
This job’s based in DC's New York office where you’ll “copyedit and proofread books to ensure accuracy” and, well duh, “assist Editor in all aspects of the creation of a archival or special projects.”
Prior experience in copyediting and proofreading is required, college smarts are preferred, and here’s my favorite: “must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with managers and other levels of personnel.”
Play nice with others, and don’t keep pitching that Metamorpho relaunch to everyone you meet.
Eddie Berganza started out as an Assistant Editor at DC and look how he's turned out.
And at one time, Marvel Comics even let the Assistant Editors run the show.
Good luck, job seekers!
