Simon Monjack Buried Next to Brittany

Simon Monjack was laid to rest next to his late wife Brittany Murphy yesterday.
The British screenwriter - who passed away suddenly last Sunday - was buried following an emotional orthodox Jewish service at the Chapel of the Hills in Sunland. His remains were then committed to the ground at Los Angeles’ Forest Lawn Memorial Park just five months after his late actress spouse.
Family spokesman Roger Neal said, “It was Simon’s wish to be laid to rest next to her.”
Around 75 friends and family members paid tribute to Simon at the private ceremony, where Brittany’s mother Sharon Murphy - who lived with her son-in-law - and his mother Linda spoke to the crowd. Roger said, “Sharon was very strong and spoke about how much she loved Simon, and how now Simon and Brittany are together. She told them, ‘I’ll miss you my babies.’”

Prescription Drugs Found Near Simon Monjack

Prescription drugs were found close to Simon Monjack’s body.
The British screenwriter - whose wife Brittany Murphy died in December aged just 32 - was discovered “unresponsive” in the bedroom of his Hollywood home last night and Los Angeles coroners are currently investigating why the 39-year-old passed away.
Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said, “There were some prescription drugs found that belonged to Mr. Monjack, and we’ll have an ongoing investigation. Cause of death is pending, and there will be an autopsy after a day or so, and pending toxicology reports, we’ll be releasing the results after we get all those tests back. The family is devastated at this time, and it is under investigation.”
According to the coroner, Simon’s body was found in the master bedroom and there “were no illicit drugs location - just prescription medications,” though he declined to say what they were. Simon’s death will not be investigated by police as there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his passing.

Brittany Murphy’s Husband Found Dead

UPDATE: TMZ reports that it was Brittany’s mother who found Simon unconscious in his bedroom.
Almost exactly five months after Brittany Murphy’s death, Simon Monjack, the actress’ husband, has passed away.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, medics were called to Simon’s Hollywood Hills home Sunday night for an unspecified medical situation. Attempts to revive Monjack were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
No possible cause or manner of death have been provided at this time. “They are conducting their investigation. Once we have further information, we will provide it,” Sgt. Louie Lozano stated.
It was on December 20, 2009 when medics were called to the same residence. That was when Murphy, who was discovered unconscious in the shower by her mother, was pronounced dead on arrival at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. It was later determined that Murphy had died as a result of pneumonia, with secondary factors of iron-deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication.

“How did it happen?” Simon Monjack demanded in a recent interview (which took place only two days after his wife Brittany Murphy passed away). Speaking on behalf of Murphy’s family, he said, “We want to know why we lost our baby.”
“I look forward to getting the results,” Monjack said of the autopsy, a procedure he found emotionally painful but necessary. He also told People magazine that Murphy did have a heart murmur. “There was nothing here that could endanger her,” he said, describing few prescription medications inside their home.
The night before Murphy died, she and husband Simon Monjack ate Thai food and watched Public Enemies, It’s Complicated and The Princess and the Frog.
Funeral plans for Brittany Murphy have not yet been finalized.

Actress Brittany Murphy Dies at Age 32

UPDATE: A coroner’s official says Murphy may have died of natural causes.
Actress Brittany Murphy, best known for her work on 1995’s Clueless, was pronounced dead today in Los Angeles. She was only 32.
According to reports, Murphy was discovered unconscious by her mother in her shower. A call from the home of Simon Monjack, Brittany’s husband of 2 1/2 years, was made around 8:00 AM.
Paramedics attempted to revive the 8 Mile star who had apparently gone into cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead on arrival at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Although Brittany has not starred in any big screen hit in some time, she had been the subject of recent tabloid talk. In late November, Murphy was replaced on a film being shot in Puerto Rico. It was rumored that that Brittany and Simon’s questionable behavior - including possible drug use - was behind her dismissal. This recast lead to an SNL skit on December 5.
