Rose McGowan Slams Ex-Fiance

Rose McGowan has mocked her former fiance Robert Rodriguez.
The 40-year-old actress - who was in a relationship with the Sin City director for two years until 2009 - claimed the filmmaker's planned remake of 1968 futuristic film Barbarella ground to a halt because he turned his back on a huge budget as he "doesn't know" how to work outside of his home state of Texas.
When asked during a Facebook Q&A how close the remake - in which she would have starred in the title role made famous by Jane Fonda - came to being made, she said, "We had $80 million to shoot it in Germany, but he pulled the plug because he doesn't know how to shoot outside of Texas."
The director previously claimed he didn't want to make the movie in Germany because it would mean being away from the five children he has with ex-wife Elizabeth Avellan for too long: "Germany offered us a $70 million budget, which would have been by far the biggest budget I ever would have had for a movie. But I had to shoot it in Germany and post it in Germany. Nothing against Germany, but I have five kids and I was like, 'God, I don't know if we can do that. I don't know if I can be away that long.' It was a real bummer. We had all this artwork and screen tests of what it would look like. It was a really cool, R-rated, sexy version of a Star Wars movie... It was gonna be really great."

Charlie Sheen will use his birth name, Carlos Estevez, in the credits for his new movie Machete Kills.
The 47-year-old actor has reportedly decided to ditch his stage name, which he began using when he was only four years old to avoid being confused with his uncle Carlos, to show his respect for director Robert Rodriguez, who was born in Texas but is very proud about his own Latin heritage.
A screen-grab from the credits of the upcoming action film, obtained by gossip website TMZ.com, shows that he will use his birth name in the opening and closing credits. It will mark the first time in his professional career that he won't be billed as Charlie Sheen.
The Anger Management star began using the name after his father changed his name from Ramon Antonio Gerardo Estevez to Martin Sheen when he moved to Hollywood.

UPDATE: Rose’s rep denies that there has been an end to either their relationship or their joint film projects.
Less than a year after becoming engaged, Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez have supposedly called it quits. Just days ago, it was reported the Charmed actress would take on the remake of Red Sonja, a film to be produced by Rodriguez.
Rose first met a then-married Robert when the two worked on the film Grindhouse. Although the couple denied the accusations, it was rumored that McGowan caused the end of her director’s 16-year marriage.
During their relationship, the Planet Terror star has had her name linked to several Rodriguez projects, the most notable one being Barbarella. Unfortunately, it’s controversy behind the Jane Fonda update that may have brought their bliss to a grinding halt.
