Amanda BynesAmanda Bynes will be allowed out of rehab twice a week.

The 27-year-old actress was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold in July after her wild behavior led to her allegedly being diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, but she appears to be on the road to recovery as she will be given a pass for supervised outings every week.

"Amanda is being given two passes a week to go the beach, or out to eat and do things like that, accompanied by a professional handler. She is making great progress," a source told FOX411.

The Easy A star was moved to The Canyon treatment facility in Malibu at the end of September after spending two months at UCLA Medical Center and has reportedly been told she will "lead a long, normal life" as long as she continues to take her medication. Amanda's mother Lynn was granted a temporary conservatorship over her daughter in August, shortly after she was taken to a psychiatric unit by police officers, who arrested her after she struck up a small fire in the driveway of a stranger's home in Thousand Oaks, Los Angeles. Amanda's parents released a statement about her progress two months ago and said they were upbeat about her recovery.

Lea Michele has offered her support to Zac Efron following his recent rehab stint.

The Glee actress - whose boyfriend Cory Monteith died from a heroin and alcohol overdose in July - has reached out to her New Year's Eve co-star following revelations he has been battling cocaine addiction and has vowed to do her best to help him stay sober. "Lea called Zac and told him, 'I'm here if you need me.' She urged him to get serious about having a 24-hour sobriety coach and to only spend time with people who care about his welfare. Lea must feel sad that she wasn't able to prevent Cory from relapsing. She knows Zac well and would hate to see him go down the same path," a source said.

Zac was delighted to hear from his friend and has promised to stay in regular contact with her. "Zac was really glad to hear from her. They have plans to go on a yoga outing together in LA later this year and he promised to discuss his state of mind with her weekly by phone or email," the source added.

Michael Douglas Set to Finish Cancer Treatment

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies,

Michael Douglas has just one cancer treatment remaining.

The Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps star, who was diagnosed with a tumor in his throat in August, is currently undergoing eight weeks of chemotherapy and radiation, and will undergo his final session this week. His recovery is then expected to take a further six weeks, with the Oscar-winning actor then to be subjected to periodic check-ups.

“No further treatments are scheduled after this week. He’s really happy about it ending. He was determined not to have a feeding tube, and he didn’t have to have one,” his publicist, Allen Burry, said.

Although the 66-year-old actor is expected to make a full recovery from the illness, he may not make anymore films. Instead, Michael reportedly wants to spend as much time with his family, wife and their two children, Dylan, 10, and Carys, seven, as he can.

“This is a man in the middle of a gigantic fight, and he wants to conserve his energy and resources. If he beats this, he intends to focus on spending time with his family. He looks like he has aged 10 years in weeks,” a friend explained.
