Nicole Richie Wants a Stable Home for Kids

Nicole Richie wants her children to have "stability."
The 30-year-old designer spent a lot of time on the road with her father Lionel Richie when she was growing up but wants Harlow, four, and three-year-old Sparrow - her kids with rocker husband Joel Madden - to spend most of their time at home.
"One of the biggest differences in the way I'm raising my kids versus the way I was raised is that I was on tour a lot. I don't really do that with my kids. It's important to me that they have stability. I like them to be home," she said.
However, Nicole - who has previously battled drug addiction - insists there was nothing "wrong" with the way she was raised by Lionel and her mother Brenda. "I was taken out of school and had tutors. By the time my father went onstage, I was asleep. There's no right or wrong way to raise a family. Look, I don't know anyone who can say they don't just try and do the best that they can do," she added.

Lionel Richie Owes $1.1 Million in Taxes

Lionel Richie reportedly owes over $1.1 million in unpaid taxes. The soul singer, who resides in Los Angeles, has been hit with a lien - an official claim against his property - for the payment of his debt which totals $1,130,609, according to TMZ.com.
The musician has racked up a huge number of hits over the years, including "Hello," "Dancing On The Ceiling" and "Easy Like Sunday Morning," and according to legal documents he is worth a reputed $200 million.
If Lionel - who recently released a duets album, Tuskegee, featuring new versions of his greatest hits - fails to pay the bill then the American government could repossess his property to clear the debt. His representative is yet to comment on the claims.
The 62-year-old star - the father of Nicole Richie - will next appear alongside Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Nettles and Robin Thicke as judges on new TV show Duets.

Lionel Richie thinks Michael Jackson was the "silliest guy" he's ever met.
The 62-year-old singer will always remember the late singer as someone who was "funny and silly" because he often used to make the "Dancing on the Ceiling" hitmaker laugh at "inappropriate times."
"Michael Jackson was the silliest guy I ever met. He liked to trigger attacks of laughter at inappropriate times. I remember watching a dignitary giving a speech, and he looked over and started giggling ... that just set me off. That to me was who he really was. What we say later was a product of failure of the rest of his life. The guy was just funny and silly."

Sources report that Nicole Richie is planning to have her wedding in December, though her bachelorette party was held last weekend. According to rumors, Nicole is currently dress shopping and is thinking about holding the wedding at her dad Lionel Richie’s estate in Los Angeles.
Nicole Richie has two children with longtime boyfriend Joel Madden, and wedding rumors have been ringing for the reality starlet since the first pregnancy.
Will she actually follow through with the nuptials this time? Reps for Richie haven’t confirmed or denied the current wedding rumors.
