Miley Cyrus Doesn’t Like Acting

Miley CyrusMiley Cyrus isn't passionate about acting.

The "Wrecking Ball" singer - who shot to fame aged 12 after starring in Disney TV show Hannah Montana - is no longer interested in appearing in movies because she hates having to pretend to be someone else.

"I'm just not passionate about acting, because I don't like to pretend to be somebody I'm actually not. Why should I put on strange characters? I prefer to show my true colors as the real Miley Cyrus," she said.

The 21-year-old star also spoke out to demand more "tolerance" in the world and admitted she doesn't understand how discriminatory attitudes are still held in the modern world: "I think a lot about politics. Despite the fact that it's the 21st century and America is so proud of being a free country, sometimes incomprehensible things happen in our society. There is racism and discrimination. I fight against that. I demand more tolerance, especially for homosexuals, who of course should be allowed to marry.

Justin Bieber’s Waxwork Removed from Madame Tussauds

Justin Bieber with his wax statueJustin Bieber's waxwork has been taken down from Madame Tussauds.

The figure of the 19-year-old star has been removed from display at the New York museum on West 42nd Street after it began to wear away from so many fans touching it over the years. The statue shows Justin when he was younger and, despite regular maintenance, "it no longer does justice either to the star or to the attraction," so bosses decided to withdraw it from the site.

Madame Tussauds general manager, Bret Pidgeon, told the New York Post newspaper, "This is disappointing, but hopefully we can welcome a new grown-up Justin back to the attraction in the near future."

Meanwhile, the "Baby" hitmaker - who has been charged with driving under the influence (DUI), driving with an expired license and resisting arrest after he was caught allegedly drag racing in Miami last month - sent his fans into meltdown yesterday after he quietly changed his name to "Bizzle" on Instagram following reports he is planning a career in rap.

Meg Ryan’s Journalistic Ambition

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Features,

Meg RyanMeg Ryan always wanted to be a journalist.

The 52-year-old actress had a passion for writing as a teenager and only turned to acting as a way of paying her way through college. "My main aim, at 18, was to become a journalist. I only started acting - in commercials - to pay my way through college in New York," she said.

The Sleepless in Seattle star was "intimidated" by everyone around her when she started working and struggled to "understand" her co-stars. "I was 19 when I was in my first film, Rich And Famous. I played Candice Bergen's daughter and only had about ten lines, which I would repeat constantly every night. When I traveled to Los Angeles, it was the first time I had ever been on a plane. I was intimidated by everyone in those days. If you ever see the film, you will see me shaking in every scene. I did not understand actors. It was overwhelming," she told The Sun.

Joe Jonas and Selena GomezJoe Jonas wants Selena Gomez to be "happy."

The 24-year-old singer is a fan of his fellow former Disney star - who previously dated his brother Nick - and is hoping she can continue doing great things in her career following her recent stint in rehab. When asked if he is a fan of the "Come & Get It" hitmaker, he said, "I am! I am! I mean, her career been great and she is going to succeed and I want her to succeed and I want her to be happy!"

The former Jonas Brothers star believes the key to keeping himself on the right track and not succumbing to the pressures of fame is to learn from the mistakes of those he admires. Discussing dealing with fame, he told E! News, "Something that I heard from someone I looked up to was, 'Watch the people around you and learn from their mistakes so you don't make the same.' I just held on to that and any time I saw a celebrity I really looked up to screw up, I just was like 'All right, I am not going to do that or try my best ability to avoid that,' so it's just a learning tool."

Selena, 21, sought help at The Meadows facility in Arizona because she was "burned out," with reports suggesting she underwent the two-week stint in rehab to address her alcohol and marijuana use."

Quote of the Day: Lily Allen on Fame

Kimberly Stewart, Kelly Osbourne, and Lily Allen

"I feel like when I was growing up and dreaming of being a pop star, it was the days of Britpop when things felt authentic and anarchic and people were taking drugs and having a lot of fun and having sex with each other. So excuse me if I found it a bit disappointing when I arrived and it was a bunch of sterile f***ing Botoxed idiots that stank of desperation."

- Pop star Lily Allen reflects on the kind of people she used to be friends with before she married and became a mother.

Meryl Streep Doesn’t Buy into Hollywood Hype

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Features,

Meryl StreepMeryl Streep doesn't think she's the "most wonderful thing in the world."

While the 64-year-old star is one of the most celebrated actresses in Hollywood - with three Oscars under her belt - she admits she doesn't buy into the hype and credits her children with keeping her feet on the ground. "When I'm not acting I don't have any sort of belief that I'm the most wonderful thing in the world. I have four children who remind me of this regularly! I'm under no illusions about my limitations as a human being," Meryl - who has four grown-up children, Henry, Mamie, Grace and Louisa - said.

The actress plays Violet Weston, an addict mother who has strained relations with her long-suffering children, in August: Osage County, and she admits she struggled with the role as she is so devoted to her kids Henry, 34, Mamie, 30, Grace, 27, and Louisa, 22. When quizzed if her children have seen her portrayal of a bad mother, Meryl said, "They haven't seen it yet except my youngest and she said, 'Mom, everybody is going to hate you but you're so good in this.' I realized it's worth risking everything to go to a place where you'll be loathed."

Disney Star Calls Joe Jonas Out on “Bull****”

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Television, Rants, Rivalries,

Joe Jonas has been slammed as a "bad artist" by Dylan Sprouse.

The former Jonas Brothers star gave a revealing interview earlier this week in which he claimed he felt working for Disney meant he had to "sugarcoat" his true self and had little choice or creative input into his work.

But now his fellow former Disney star Dylan - best known for starring with twin brother Cole in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody - has hit out at his "bulls**t" comments, insisting Joe was more likely dazzled by fame than being prepared to make his own decisions. In a blog post, Dylan wrote, "I think it's bulls**t that they were being robbed of choice or creativity. If they wanted too, they could have told Disney 'No.' Cole and I did this hundreds of times and we ended up all right. The only reason they didn't is because, like many of the people on that channel, I think they fell for the allure of fame... Nowadays artists just assume they have to do what they are told by their proprietors because there is a 'rigid structure to achievement.' It is nothing more than a scheme to rob you of your individuality and capitalize the gain they acquire from such treachery. If you believe this, not only are you incredibly foolish, but you are a BAD ARTIST [sic]."

Will Ferrell: I’m a Middle-Aged One Direction

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Features,

Will FerrellWill Ferrell claims he's a middle-aged version of One Direction.

The popular comedian feels akin to the British boy band because he has started to induce hysteria among teenage fans whenever he goes out in public. "We had gone out to dinner, and by the time we had left the restaurant, there was a mob of high-school kids outside. There was a panel that blocked part of the window and they were jumping up trying to look. I'm a 46-year-old version of One Direction. All five of them packed into one middle-aged guy," he joked, recalling one particular incident in Seattle.

The loud-mouthed star - who is returning to screens as hapless newsreader Ron Burgundy in the sequel to cult comedy Anchorman - insists he wasn't always so confident and used to be a painfully shy child: "I was extremely shy. I had to meet everyone and until I was comfortable with everyone. I didn't say a word. Once I got to speak, everyone saw my true colors. And it'd be like, 'Wait, you're funny!' It's not that I lacked confidence. I never felt the need to impress anyone, but I wanted to feel that I belonged."
